Thanks for all the input guys. We ended up with a 2003 V-max 600 deluxe with 660 miles for $2900.00, got lucky I guess, that's around $700.00 under book. The sled looks and runs like it's new. I actually think it's faster than my Attak, maybe not, but it sure feels that way, very very snappy...
Thanks for all the info guys. The gas thing coupled with the age got me rethinking. I'm now looking at a 03 V-max 600. From everything I have read that's a great machine with better power and a better engine. Thanks again.

I've got a line on a 1999 Yamaha Vmax 500 Deluxe with only 1720 miles on it for 2300.00. Is this a good deal? I have a 2007 Attak for myself and the Vmax would be for the wife. Was there any problems with this year or particular model. Thanks in advance.

With small amounts, I'm almost sure that's the case. If you have a good amount in your oil though, that might make things a little more iffy. The fuel if enough will also break down your oil hurting it's protectant properties
I'm sure you know this all already, but for anyone else that doesn't know it might help. I know someone posted it above, but if you have turned over your sled numerous times without it starting, you may have fuel in your oil. Each time you turn it over you are shooting fuel into the cylinders...
Just looked at the Nytro thread about the riders ages, very interesting. Thought it would be interesting to see how old the Attak riders are. The Attak is not my typical type of sled. Have previously owned short track Arcticchokes and one Indy 500 Poo. I purchased an Attak because of the better...
Just think how much that Poo will be worth down the road compared to the Yammi. Resale tells you a lot about a sled and resale value is one thing Poo sleds don't have much of.
I Just bought an 07 Attak from them. The owners Terry & Bob are outstanding. They bent over backwards for me to make sure all my questions were answered. They spent a good hour going over my sled with me to make sure I was set up properly. HIGHLY recommend these folks. THE BEST customer service...
Good to know info all. Looks like I'm going to be pulling teeth. Good idea on the GPS, I didn't think about using that. I have a Garmin gpsmap76 I use in our boat during fishing season. Easy enough to throw on the sled. Thanks guys. ;)!
Been seeing a lot of threads about how the Attak/Apex speedometer is off vs the radar guns. Just curious how much they're off on the lower end if at all. So for instance if you think you are going 60 mph, are you really going that speed or is it off some. Any ideas? Thanks

Here is a snippet off of the Minnesota snowmobilers association page that explains Mn's rules
I have studs on my snowmobile and still want to enjoy Minnesota's snowmobile trails. How does the metal traction device (stud) law affect me?
Snowmobiles equipped with studs are welcome in...
Well, I did some reading on this subject today. It seems there are a lot of townships that really frown on studs as you can imagine. Minnesota even has a law that states that no studs are allowed on any of their asphalted rec roads. I know safety is a big issue with stud owners, but what about...
I have a good friend who is an engineer for polaris ATV's in Bagley Minnesota. I'm going to have to call him and ask him what's up with Polaris. Not sure he will tell me anything but he might.

I'm from Park Rapids, moving down around the Twin cities in August. The trail you are referring to along the Heartland, us locals call the horse trail, full of sticks and fairly bumpy, it's pretty much a logging road from what I can remember, maybe they have improved it? My parents house is a...
I was talking to my wife about the studs we are going to put in my new Attak. She asked me if I thought that was a good idea. I said why wouldn't it be? She said they are disallowed on the Heartland trail back home in Minnesota, because they tear up the tar on the trail. So it got me to thinkin...
