Still chasing hot clutch issues. I have zero run out at the jackshaft bearing and .004 at the end of the shaft (over the splines), does this constitute a bent shaft? I'm also seeing up to .025 run out on the secondary sheaves, moveable being worse. Slightly less run out with Dalton machined helix. See attached pic.

Most likely not bent.... I'm pretty sure the bearing has a loose/slip fit? how much does the indicator needle move if you just move the shaft up and down opposite the needle without rotation? Tolerances can add up in a hurry.Still chasing hot clutch issues. I have zero run out at the jackshaft bearing and .004 at the end of the shaft (over the splines), does this constitute a bent shaft? This likely isn’t the issue but did you have your primary clutch retorqued? This was an update from Yamaha. Some were slipping on the crankshaft I believe.

How are primary rollers? All nice and free?
Are you all stock for components?
Did you dump stock primary spring? (too long IMO)
With stock primary open, how well does the sliding sheave move in/out? Bushing ok?
How about a mockup with all springs removed(set to full shift) How is the CtC?
Damn a belt blower is frustrating and I hate reading this.
Will it still run hot, blow belts if you just ride it easily for 50 miles or so? I just would like to see if it still has issues when ridden docile, and if heat is there still.....at least this way we rule out things. I know lots of guys hammer things 100% of time, but if you run it easy, it should run cool to touch and never blow a belt. Just for a test.

1 bushing was shot about 200 miles ago, I replaced it, all good now.
Are you all stock for components?
Currently yes except updated secondary rollers, brought it back to the dealer to look at. Have many different tuning components on the shelf, ready to go.

I have 7 different primary springs to try but put back to stock after blowing countless belts

Seems to be fine, I'm starting to think the problem is in the secondary.

Mockup I did a few weeks ago seemed ok. C to c is 262mm, right at the bottom of the tolerance

I rode it yesterday for 1 mile at 20% throttle and it was already building plenty of heat.

.025” is fairly bad on the stationary IMO.

Stock. Approx 3100. I've also tried glide washers, tp orange and have all of the Dalton's to try. What I'd really like to try is replacing my entire secondary assembly with one that is known not being a belt blower. Unfortunately I don't know anyone close to borrow one.Soupy what primary spring do you have? What is your engagement?

I've indexed the secondary stationary sheave to get down to about .004 run out at its outside diameter. Aftermarket helix helped movable sheave runout, after I checked each of the 3 possible positions, I reduced the run out to .012, clutches still hot..025” is fairly bad on the stationary IMO.

I am not much help except to say that I feel for you and hope you get it straightened out.
I did remember this post with some videos in it that may help give you some ideas so I went and found it. Good luck!

Seeing your tools and reading your posts it looks like you have a better chance of figuring it than most people. Too bad you can't find someone to swap clutches with to see if the problem goes away. Sometimes to troubleshoot problems you need to eliminate areas in big chunks like that.

Agreed. I'm about to post up to try that.
