06 Apex mtn mcx build.

Can one of you get some pictures of how the charge tube runs from the precooler to the intercooler through the frame. I understand it goes through that hole you drilled next to the exhaust but from there, up and through the box chassis and to the intercooler. That would help me a ton with my turbo build.

It is a rubber/silicone hose from the precooler to the intercooler. Molded to fit between the engine/valve cover and d-frame

You can see both the precooler and the hose in the picture

Right. I'm going to use generic tubing for mine so before I order the tubing id like an idea of angles and length based on a picture that's all. Of there isn't one available that's cool. Just looking for some insight before I have to buy tubing multiple times.

Contact mcx usa - price on that hose should not be that expensive ;-)

Here is a better pic from mcx webpage - were the apex rear mount kit is laid out on the floor ;)!

Nice :)

Get hold of a set of adjustable clutch weights, Supertips are what I use.

Good choise.
There's a few strong running Apex'es in your area that I've tuned :)

Well, maybe time to start looking at it again. I've had a long break for christmas, and snow has finally started to come, so it's probably time to working again. I haven't come any further than to close/complete the engine.
But before i continue i have been thinking about finishing the precooler install. I were thinking that maybe the precooler should be wrapped with some sort of heat resistant material, where it comes through the frame up front, to keep it from rubbing (on the frame). Have any of you guys done something to avoid the precooler from rubbing, or is it not an issue? I'm a little worried that after a while there might be a hole in it..

I make the hole big enough that it won't rub, it works.

Started to mount the oil pump. In the manual it says to grind the centre hole of the washer. I'm guessing it must be the washer on the fly wheel bolt, which we change out. But why, what for? In my mind i can not see why to do it, as the new bolt fits the washer perfectly. Any other views on this matter?
Picture below shamelessly lended from rxriders excellent thread..

And on another note, do you guys use thread locker (like lock-tite) on the threads on the new oil filter housing bolt? I noticed some yellow stuff on the old oil filter bolt/pipe when it came out...
