They have not updated the Install Manual. Bolts on newer kits does fit the washer on the magneto perfectly, but not in the past.
You don't even have to remove the magneto cover anymore. In the past you had to in order to grind the washer to fit the bolt.

Thanks a million. That was what I thought.
would you use some sort of thread lock on the oil filter housing pipe/bolt?

No. Tighten to spec. When installing the oil filter, thighten it hand tight, do not use any tool to tighten. Before installing the oil filter, add oil to the oil ring on the filter or else it will be damaged on install.

Thanks. I´m guessing i should buy the shop manual for the sled...
Btw, do you use to change out the blow off valve spring, with the one from thistledoo? I have ordered one, but not sure to try it "stock" before i upgrade.. Many people on other forms are speaking highly of it.
Edit: if anyone else wonders what spec to torque the oil filter adaptor plate it is 70 nm according to the manual.

The installation has contionued. But when removing the magneto cover, i ruined the gasket. It was like glued on, so I can`t believe it could be removed in one piece, so had to get a new one. As rxrider pointed out, it does not need to be removed anymore, so that sucked. Mcx should improve the manual on this point.
Next thing was the exhaust rings, that should be reused from the muffler part of the exhaust. Mine were so stuck that they broke when i tried to remove them. So had to get new ones of those also.
The guys at Midt finnmark motor sure has great service. They had both parts in stock, and got them both delivered within a day (I live about 140 km away from them).

Yes the new bolt does fit the stock washer, so no need to remove the magneto cover. Sorry to hear you did not have that information at hand when you took it apart :-(
The stock exhaust gaskets at the Y-pipe is a pain to get out. You have to use a huge plier to bend out the exhaust openings, it makes it easier to remove them. Still not easy.
They are great guys, stocking up on parts typically used by us turbo guys
Please let us know how she runs when done.

Work is continuing, with great progress. Have finished the oil pump assembly, mounted the mcx control box, test fitted the turbo and oil hoses. Got the steering frame with the oilite steering bushings mounted and lots of other stuff back on. Too bad I don't have a camera at hand, to document the project.
Well, when test fitting the turbo I discovered that the exhaust pipe and the turbo did not allign properly. I had to pull the exhaust pipe/flange upwards, and pushing the turbo down, to get them together. The exhaust pipe ideally has to come up some more, but it can't as it is already close to the tunnel "roof" (It can't get any higher). Is that normal?
I was also thinking that it is strange that the crankcase breather hose end isn't covered. I'm thinking that it should be covered with some metal mesh or something, to avoid getting snow or dirt into the crankcase.. Anyone have done this, or is it not necessary?
rxrider, is that a spacer between the precooler and the tunnel? Was it supplied with the kit on the newer models, or is it a personal upgrade?
and is this a precooler from a 06-10 or 11- as it has another fastening point in front of it? mine only has one in the back.

There are no spacers with the kit.
The turbo exhaust turbine housing can be rotated.
Loosen the clamp and rotate until the exhaust inlet aligns with the exhaust pipe.

Anybody knows where this plate is going? I was thinking that it was for underneath the tunnel, but it didn´t fit well anywhere. Any pointers? my sled is a mountain.

Well, shot erik @ mcx an email about it, and it goes under the turbo..
Damn they have good service. The fuel pick up was missing, and 3-4 days later it was at my door..

Filled her up tonight with coolant, oil and fuel, and started her a little bit, checking for oil etc. It was quite exciting, nice sound.
I will try to get her finished tomorrow.
Do i need any special tools to change the clutch kit both drive and driven? (except a clutch puller..)
