06 nytro, getting antifreeze in the engine oil??

Hey guys, just an update. After two rides with the rebuilt wterpump im still loosing coolant into the oil. Pressure checked the oil cooler, seems to be fine. Held 15 psi all night. Im still getting milky sludge building up around the back of the waterpump wich makes me think its still leaking. I think im goana make a plate to bolt onto the waterpump so i can preassure test it by itself instead of pressurizing the whole coolant system. I allready know that wont hold pressure. I cant believe if its a cracked head or block? I would think it would pressurize the coolant system or possibly burn the antifreeze or oil. This beast is getting the best of me. Still all the dealers i talk to say they have never seen this issue.

Lindy06. Yes, please keep us posted on this issue. This topic has been fascinating and we are all waiting to hear what the problem was.

Hey guys, sorry i havent been on i a while. But i did put the sled away this year still pissing coolant into the engine oil. I did some experimenting with it though. I took it on a 4 or 5 hr ride. I babied it the first half of the ride, checked the coolant at our turn around point and it was still near the full. On the way home i really ripped on it. By the time it got home the bottle was empty again. I put the pressure tester on it while still hot and she wouldnt hold pressure. I claped off the lines to the oil cooler on the front of the engine to see if that could be leaking by, but it didnt seem to help. Still loosing pressure, and coolant into the oil tank.So im back to first base, and have done more oil changes to last this sled the next 5 yrs. LOL. Im still wondering if it has a head issue?? Im going to pull the head off over the summer and send it to the machine shop to be fully inspected. I will go with a new head gasket, and tourqe it down as dubblerage explained earlier. Im not to sure what else to do with this hair puller. I seem to be getting nowhere. Its obviusly a small, tight leak, and only acts up when hot and under high pressure. I even changed the radiator cap for the hell of it. No change. I still havent talked to anyone with a similar issue, so i guess im the lucky one to get this sled.

Does it hold pressure when its cold? If it does when its cold and not when it hot must be a crack somewhere. You could pressurize the coolant system and with the oil pan off the engine look up inside the block and see if there is any sign of antifreeze. Good luck and keep us informed.

Yes the sled will hold pressure when its cold. I pump it up to 15 pounds and it will sit right there and hold. The only thing that lead me to a head issue was before i did the head gasket the sled would seem to loose coolant over night, while sitting. Now it only does it when i really romp on it. That still doesnt single out a head gasket though. I would think i would smell coolant burning, or see a trace of it on the plugs. I thought about taking it to a dealer, but id have more into it then its worth by the time i got done paying them.

06 Nytro/05 Vector

I have an 06 Nytro and my wife an 05 Vector. You have done more then we have, and we have had these since new. Very intrested to see what you find. Good luck

Water pumps are the devil! I fought mine on my rx1 before the 4th time I finally got it to quit leaking. Mine was leaking out on the ground and not in the engine like yours though

I bet the block or head is cracked. Dang good luck with the saga, they aren't all this bad!

Hey all. Im getting ready to tear into the pig again. Have to get this sled together for good before winter. Im also thinking it has a cracked head or block. Im going to pull the head again, send it to the machine shop to have it tested again. If it is a crack in the block, chances are it will be too small to see and i mite as well start looking for another block or engine. I have been looking for a good low mileage engine, but no one seems to have anything out there.

Hey guys just an update. I did the head gasket again. Used new bolts, washers, etc. I had the head pressure tested, and resurfaced. Put the sled together. Well what do you know, the terd is still pissing coolant into the oil. Not much but enough to piss me off. I'm done with it, just going to ride it untill it blows up, then buy a motor. I plan on changing the oil two time a yr. Something internal must be cracked. Allready put about 800 miles on it this yr and its running great, other than i think the stator took a #*$&@, since the last time i rode it the battery went dead, and its not charging now.
