1,000ft

Racing snowmobiles is like Golf .. In golf everyone thinks they play faster than they really do.. In sled racing everyone thinks they are faster than they are… Lots of claims of the latest and greatest and sometimes they are true but most of the time they fall short of their claims.. If they Spend enough time testing and throw enough money at it and sooner or later they will run right by you… as they should… Old saying goes, nothing last forever . Hopefully we get some winter and some ice to sort it all out… Gotta love the sport to be reading this … lol….

It really, really, really is all in good fun. At least for me.
I like going over on Polaris & Skidoo groups and see what's going on with them.
Mostly Amazingly honest people in most of the groups.
However, you are correct.. marketing runs rampant, as to what's real & what's blown out of proportion.
However, we were enticed with the same dream. Lol.
And it's like you say, as we get closer & closer, we shall all find out what's what.
All we can do is dial in our sleds the best we can. If you take a beating, my hat's off to the guy!

So the only two changes I've made this year is the gap innovations Ram Air & a primary spring change.
If you decide to do this mod take your time with the Dremel and clean some things up, for a better fit.
So I'll be switching the tune 250/275/290 to verify my findings. Is the extra boost worth it?
I'm not saying 290 is not quicker than 250. But is it worth a tenth of a second, 5/10 of a second, in the short run (660) Then I'll move on 1,000 foot runs.
Most 850 two strokes like to keep things short and don't like to stretch their legs like we do. Lol.
