11800 rpm (to high?)

I bought some 13.3 alum .85 gram weights at my local dealer it's all they had in stock if I put them in the top hole will it make much difference ? Will it hold the rpms down off the rev limiter off the line?

Sorry for the thread Jack I'm really confused

sea level set up for mnt lite is 13.9(3.6g)steel, iner and outer. If you want to bring the rpms down you need more (g) in tip. All yami lists is a 17.2(4.5g) steel. 13.3 alum .85 g is pretty lite?
Remember lite raises rpm & heavy brings down rpms

but i though they came stock with no weight in the outer one?, and its all my dealer had in stock :) i couldnt find a site that would sell me them for less than 20 bucks shipped for 3 -.-

6 bolts and you can check your clutch but 07 mnt lite thems the #'s. the rivets are like 1 - 2 bucks each, 20 sounds bit high?

okay i took it off, both my raps have rivits in them. steel ones so i assume there pretty big. and it was 20 dollars because they have to be shipped to newfoundland canada its like 15 dollars shipping.

im slowly learning clutching, i pick up really quick on this stuff since i took an automotive trade and im always modding my cars. Turbo ford escort and a turbo focus.

anywho could i get off the limiter with a heavier spring in the clutch?

I'm not a guru by any means on clutching but I believe all a spring will do is raise or lower you engagement. (what rpm the primary closes on belt)

and backshift

I just adjusted my secondary because its free and easy and gave me a little result, I also recorded everything I did to know where to change it back if needed. I got 3 of the 17.2 rivets at a yamaha dealer today for under 5 bucks and will put them in tomarrow night, it sucks that trails are closed here so I wont be able to test it out till some more snow arives.

Thanks
Joe

Well I was out grooming tonight so i didnt get the rivets in, but I got my clutch apart and I see I only have 1 rivet on the outside. I guess tomarrow night I will try the biger rivets, and trails are reopening tomarrow so I can test it out too.

Nitrous would be a good reason to keep it out of the rev limiter, but hey they put it on their for a reason, so why not use it! lol

just a quick quesion. do ALL mountain lites come with 17 top gear, i know it can take 17-20 without changine the chain. i was thinking an 18 gear would still keep my low end power but keep me a bit farther down on the rpm
