Just picked up anew to me Viper. Looking for options of lug tracks that are shorter then the stock 1.6 lug. We do not go off trail, we only trail ride and would like studs if we can for ice. I know options are limited for the XTX, but looking to see what you guys do out there

Thanks in advanced!

I am just seeing what my options are. I feel the stock track has really soft lugs. The original owner swapped out the stock track with a 2 1/4" paddle track. The guy I bought it from threw in the original track with the deal. The original track has 1,000 miles on it and has 3-4 lugs that are broken off within that 1,000. So I am looking down the road of how much life is actually left on the stock track. Hate to toss it back on and have the lugs braking off. I have a 12 Nytro XTX as well with the stock ripsaw and studs and I like how it performs on the Nytro.

Well as in the other thread about 141" xtx tracks there are very few experiencing any problems with the stock 1.6" track and as far as reality goes it actually measures 1.5" and I have no idea how guys with normally aspirated Vipers are damaging that track. I have been running big HP Vipers since December of 2013 including ice and snow drags and am still running the original track that has been moved from the 14 to the 15 and has over 5000 miles in it. I have blown, broke and delaminated more 1.25" rip saws with way less hp than I can count.

Swap to 10t 2.52 drivers and it will open up the door to all the 144" tracks. The only 3 "trail friendly" tracks in 141" are the Cobra 1.3, Cobra 1.6, and backcountry 1.75 and the sad part, BOTH cobras are only available from a Cat/Yami dealer so the prices are high.

Im have not been able to try it due to I just bought it Sunday as I stated. I haven't said I'm having issues with it. I am going off from what the tracks look like and the condition they are in at this point. Just looking for what other people have dealt with. I wasn't finding what I was looking for on that other thread.

My sled has a 1.6 on it and I have maybe one lug missing in 4500miles so I would think there is life on that track yet why not cut the lugs down and stud it I wouldn’t think any more lugs would get tore up the studs would take the abuse imstead of the lugs

Probably rip the studs out of the track.

Probably rip the studs out of the track.

No way - I have 141 in mine with over 4000 miles on the studs and a few are bent but not 1 has pulled through and I am running 235 hp at low boost and 265 on high and have been for 4 yrs. Remember it is a single ply track and you have to use grand master studs and grand round washers with tall nuts. There is no vibration even on ice and hard pack. The sled launches unbelievably and still can play in 4' of fresh fluff.

This is trail riding on hardpack and it was drizzling.

This is 4' of fresh powder

This is running down an 800 Polaris he is not studded

I guess Yamadog is right, let it rip. Stud up and send it.
