Dupont slides in Canada are $102.95 ea. before tax (13%)...uggI still have the receipt at home but off the top of my head I think they were like $88.50 per slide before taxes, they weren't cheap I know that much lol!

Thanks! I'll hold off. They were much better I found on my Apex's so I just" assumed" they would be better on the winder. I'm not very handy with the mechanical part of sledding
...actually I'm terrible but love reading all the posts. Hoping for lots of white this year! I'm taking Jan-Feb. off to sled.

I'm looking to retire this winter too. Love the Dubreville to Timmons corridor too. Also, will do close to 6k miles this year. At age 50, that work thing just gets too much in the way of sledding! So, work has to go......yes I'm on my way to retirement. One of my trips alone is 6000k. I ride by myself these past few years (with a Spot). No one can get the time I take. Love the Cochrane, Dubreville Hearst corridors
I'm praying for snow....and waiting for my first spring order ...Winder 2018 LtX-Le to come in
...and first long track.
Maybe we'll meet on Trail 'A' if timing's right or I can make your ride safer as a tag along sometime...

Duponts are not needed on the cat skid, this is not the apex that they were invented for.
Always change oil in fall, the amount of moisture built up in summer is crazy, and do not start engine in summer, makes it even worse. Just attach tender.
Drain oil via a 1 liter can cut open, to create a small flat "pan" that catches oil then drains out spout thru hole in pan, after removal of footwell.
Pics from my cat....

OK whats going on here, are we all retireing this year? I just gave my notice to work also, after 34 years of driving RT.4 from my house,to work,i am just tired of all the crappy drivers today, every morning I follow people who are all over the road, when its raining out still no lights on,when its 6:45 in the morning still no lights on,man I just cant figure out why the Police don't pull more people over for this type of distracted driving, they all text, and every time we stop at a light, there head is down the entire time, sorry just my rant,i am ok now, well sorta lol. jan 15th God willing. Just need better price on cobra insurance, waiting on Obamacare quote right now,not sure if this means more sledding for me,or not, riding does cost a lot for someone who has less income. Oh well I am going to try it out any ways.

That sounds great... 25 years on Police Force and 17 years with my construction company is enough. Really pumped for this retirement and new sled.I'm looking to retire this winter too. Good for you!! All the best. Hope we have good snow so we can all enjoy this winter after a couple lack lustre years. I agree 100 % with your assertion of the bad driving habits , phones etc. Very frustrating. These small fines are just not getting the message across.OK whats going on here, are we all retireing this year? I've been on Obamacare. Three major increases in three yrs which include a loss of coverage. I'm hearing a 40% increase this January.
Sorry......I can go on & on.
Moving to a third world country and coming back to sled, when in season. Lol!
48yrs old and had enough.

As for the title of this thread, I change oils, check clutches, bearings, suspensions, burn all loose threads from track, check bolts, line ups, clean ups and then wax and armorall. Only 1400 miles on mine last year so I do not expect to find anything that needs repair or replacing except bearing grease hopefully!!
Beast, good for you and your decision retire, I know that it is a tough call huh ?
I too am contemplating when to go. Many factors to consider, and for each of us, those factors vary greatly.
All my older brothers are retired, and the two that ride have all but given up weekend rides(wrecked trail riding because of high traffic), and ride During The Week when hardly anyone rides.
Jtmetal, your almost a young pup, lol, even though you have had enough at 48. I know many that were fortunate enough to retire in their mid 50s. Dam Sweet if you ask me!!!!!
