I just came back from my first radar run and I was the fastest sled there except for the super mod. ( nos and all the goodies ). My fastest speed was a 101.9 @1000ft I dont know if that was great but it was good enough today. There was a dragon 4-stroke turbo trying to beat my speed all day ,he switched to a ice track ,clutches , jets ,boost and other things on his turbo and the best they could pull was a 100.2 ( and they sound like s**t)and they started letting a 150 lb kid run it I weigh 180 with out gear. The other sled that came close was a mod. fusion 900 he ran 101 . So overall running mine stock except plugs I thought it was pretty good and people there could not stop coming over and looking at the sled. The track conditions where not that good and I dont nearly have enough studs ,could not get traction at all . My sled if they would have the track a couple hundred feet longer would put up some good numbers because it just keept climbing .Oh and the ski-doo 800's where only getting low 90's. just thought I would share this with you guys as I was pretty happy about the YAMAHA showing everyone what they can do

Great job. My sled turned 2000 miles this weekend and seems to get stronger and stronger with age. Rode with a bunch of 600's this weekend which made me really feel good. It was fun peeling off their decals on those long wide open runs. My wife's VectorGT could also beat everyone of these 600's on the top end. The sleds we rode with were a 600 firecat snowpro, 600r skidoo,600sdi rev, and a 500ss Rev. They had no idea how fast the Yamaha's can be.

i had the same results a few weeks ago ,only sled there that tied my speed was an f1000 with lots of mods, the "stock" f1000 we beat by 2mph,i usually run anywhere from 102-106 on a 1000ft run ,gotta love it when the heavy 4strokers beat up on the rest ,my buddy has an 07 fst polaris turbo,we have never run a radar run together but i will tell you that from 0 to about 90 that thing will pull me by 3-4 lengths but after 100 its bye bye for him,not sure why but that thing hooks hard no matter what snow we are on,its stock except heavier weights in front clutch, would i buy one, probably not but it is a respectable sled

What have you done to your sled that your getting the speed ? My sled only has 600 miles on it and the only thing I did was put the straps to the top hole and max transfer. The polaris 4 stroke hooked up well out of the hole (he did have a ice track ) but I wonder if that is because there is not as much power to spin untill the boost gets built up after he gets more rpm's ?

kotapug.....have a lot done to mine but engine is stock,i run 24/40 gearing, stock clutching except a y-p-y front spring,home-made air box mod, gutted muffler, machine clutches ,i lower it for radar runs and have an 03 predator track shaved to 1/2 " lugs with 48 chisel and 144 straight picks, the thing hooks good and no wasted energy on wheelying, just goes,on the trail i run a 13.5x128x1" hacksaw with windows cut out and clipped(i think the closed window track is the biggest problem with burning sliders and loss of top speed),rear suspension set soft so it rides lower to the ground and front floats set at 30psi,the stock skis have about 1/8" shaved off keel(they got beat up quite bad the first trip to quebec so i smoothed them back out when i replaced the carbides)and i run stock 4" carbides with skidoo style plastic easy steers to help with darting,my buddies fst has no lag at all ,im impressed with the way it runs ,we're working to get better topend out of it right now but will probably never stay with mine, top pic is the fst, middle is the 128 track on my rtx and the last is the air box mod i made
