Here is my problem.
My wife and I are expecting a bambino somewhere around Feb 7th 2006. ( I know Simich, you warned me about the consequences! I was trying to land the baby in May....but my boys are swimming better that I thought for a 34 year old guy!)
So, I imagine that I will want to stay home for a couple of weeks after the baby is born. I ride with some customers and my dad etc. usually the last week of Feb....becuase once we get into march in the Muskokas, conditions get very spotty.
If we can plan a TY trip in March, I am in! If the trip happens before that, I am probably out.
No worries.....I am sure this will be an annual thing.....so if I can't make it this year....no problem. Tough Meirda

I have no problem.....we'll do it in mid-March....last year conditions were great for almost the entire month.RTX Meirda said:Here is my problem.

Hey Meirda....my boy was born on Janaury 21st and I did a 5 day trip in Mid-February. You'll be fine if we go in March, but count on the baby being late for a 1st born.
Here's a pic from TATA...March 10th Kenogami...

I'll ask the question on ontarioconditions.com, and see if they have any suggestions for a March ride, based on conditions over the past few years.
My recollection is the NL to Cochrane is a safe bet in March. Not sure about Timmins, because north western Ontario was "rumoured" to have less snow last year. It's weird, but the lake effect creates less snow around Sudbury, ... not sure re: Timmins.

Hey Dok,
Apex is ready when i want it but to much going on right now, still gotta put the boats away! OK so you are going to fill me in on what you are doing right, because if you have the apex running better times than your SRX then i am gonna S&^t!!!!! Let me tell you guys, you don't want to run against the SRX. I assure you........unless you have turbo. I have been harshly warned that I am not allowed to do any engine upgrades to the apex.........for at least one year!!!!! BUt i have some great ideas for cosmetics. I imagine that if I can go then I may be able to get a couple of other Yammie riders aswell. Unfortunately I just can't commit right now due to work, and Dok if I am there good chance you are to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Are you going to sled show? And if you are reading this today I am faxing over info for you.
Hopefully this trip works!
Cheers,
Snow.

I would suggest New Liskeard to Cochrane first. It would be the first day of the ride, and everyone will be anxious. If we do Timmins to New Liskeard as the last leg on Sunday morning, it is a short run to get back....approx 3 hours. Gives us lots of time to travel in the trucks back home for work on Monday. Conditions should not be an issue at all....we have been running up there on the last week of March for years.

Snow, I'll be at the snow for sure...not sure which day but I'll be there. The Apex is definetly starting to work on the grass...I don't know if it will top end like an SRX but you're talking two different animals. We've also learned alot since the SRX days..so that has some bearing too lol.

Count me in. Any weekend but Feb 18, 2006 (fundraising ride in support of prostate cancer in Ontario www.prostateextremeteam.com )
I would be interested but I would not be able to go unless we traveled up on the 9th and hit the trails on the 10th. That will not leave enough time for a 4 day ride if we all need to be back on the Monday to work. Maybe in 07. The ride sounds great but I have a hard time getting off work.

I was just about to post an info question some where on this site about a trip with a similar course, being New Liskeard to Timmins, then west to and up the A trail to Hearst and over to Cockrane then east to the Quebec trails. And I will probably be intersted in thsi groug ride if you have me but also in want to know the time & distance it would take to do the route I indicated. Usually me & may buddy leave from Le Domaine in Quebec and tour north but this year be wanted to take a side trip through Ontario but unsure as to how much time & distance to plan for. Like my handle says, I don't mind doing the distance every day, especially on a new Apex!
Your feed back would be much appriated guys/gals.
