ontario ty ride for 2012

I'm pretty flexible. Whatever is cheaper and easier for the masses.

I am flexible to dates as well, Just don't want to get called in to plow while in NB lol that would suck!

Sounds good, if you guys are flexible I can see about getting better prices.

So everything settled down here from the holidays. I have gotten a couple quotes back now and a few have yet to respond to me.

For the week end of the 10,11,12th (you could stay how ever long you want, I would probably be there Friday morning and riding around anyway).

The Clarion Resort Pinewood Park is asking 102 a night...

They have free parking for truck and trailer, free internet, snowmobile lock up with 12 foot fences (not sure if there is a cost for this, they did not say free..) They are right on the D trail so we would have easy trail access.

The Travelodge Lakeshore North Bay is 78.11$ a night, I am not sure how "sled friendly" they are, they did not talk about snowmobiles in their reply. Still wating for more info.

There are a few more that have yet to reply but they should start to reply now that new years has passed.

Let me know what you guys think...

If I remember correctly, the Lake Shore TL has no direct access to the trails?

We stayed at the TL Airport and it was a lot better for trail access, but I do believe it was $129 a night last year.

Thanks Irv, that is what I thought as well since they did not advertise to me that they are on the trail. I am trying to work on the rate at the TL Airport, it seems like the best place to go.

I would like to find a place that is the best for snowmobiles but I also want more people to join in the ride as possible.

Does anyone know the difference between the Clarion and the TL Airport as far as snowmobile friendly goes?

I have only seen pics of the Clarion and if it is the place I am thinking of, it looks pretty nice!

I also like the sounds of the sled lock-up, free or not.

Have you contacted bbakernbay at ontarioconditions.com ? He knows the area and places quite well.

Also, on freedomsledder.com in the Ontario section is a guy named Newfiebullet who also knows North Bay and all it has to offer quite well too.
It might not be a bad idea to post your idea of a ride there and see what others have to say as well.

Wish I could make it but I just can't commit due to work issues :o|

Bbaker has given me some good info, now it is just a matter of picking one.

He said The TL airport or a small motel in Bonfield.

The upside of the TL is location and sled friendly downside is cost.

The upside of the motel is cost, trail is right there. Downside as someone has mentioned to me is that there is nothing near by, not sure if they have a restaurant in the motel?

I was planing on stopping in to check it out on m way up north for a sled trip but m fathers sled is having some chaincase issues and had to cancel the trip.

Any further news on this? Do we have a head count?

I will make a list of all the places that we can stay at with prices.

I really need a solid number and a solid date. Stays are cheaper the week end before family day week end.

2 here for shure. will be 3 riding as one brother lives there.

So are we talking about the weekend of Feb.11-12? We would be 3 or 4 riders with 3 sleds.
