I have a 2007 Yamaha Attak with just under 10,000 miles. It cranks but won’t start and did show error code 12 on the dash. It ran fine when I parked it last March.
I’ve replaced the battery, but that didn’t fix the issue. My mechanic has replaced the crank position sensor and stator with OEM Yamaha parts, but the problem persists. He also checked the grounds and wiring, and they appear to be fine.

Any ideas?

Fouled plugs, bad gas. Does fuel pump run on key on?

Are you sure as OEM does not sell/offer them individually; you had to purchase the complete stator assembly. That is why some guys went aftermarket like RMStator when their crank position sensor failed knowing their stator was still working/good. In doing so, you had to splice in the RM sensor and it was common to not have the wires paired correctly which I thought contributed to no starts. Would just be something to confirm with your mechanic.
