Any pattern to this, for instance, always when you pull up to a stop sign, or always at 60 km. an hour? About 5 years ago, my 07 started dying at stop signs, on one mild day, then it never ever did it again.

Ground block(s) running up clutch side of frame.
I JUST went thru this exact same issue with my '09 last season. The 06-10 gens are known for this.
Get it running and carefully check/feel the heavily taped up junction blocks(ground blocks) in the wiring harness. You will have to untape and remove loom to get at them. The corroded/melted one(s) will be HOT. Again, be careful, instant burn. Find it, fix it, and all will be good.
No need to buy new blocks. Make your own. Cut and strip the wires, tin them, twist together in a "blob", solder them together with plenty of solder, and tape the every living chit out of your new block with electrical tape, and ride on.

Also check the white plug on the starter relay beside the battery

Could need a valve adjustment. Last 2 that I worked on did the same thing and that was the fix.

Thanks for the info. I will check the grounds. It started last weekend. Stalled once on a cold start then ran fine for an hour. Then at a trail stop wouldn’t start for 15 minutes. Started stalling after that. Might be 10 minutes or an hour. As I said yesterday it shut off while driving 4 times in 80 kms.

When mine started doing that it took a new stator to solve the issue.

Did my ground blocks and put the airbox back on and made sure the boots didn't come off. Went for 20km drive and worked fine. going for a good run today so I will know for sure. Thanks for all of the help.

You said you did the ground block(s). I'm guessing you did find a corroded/melted block then?

the ground blocks all looked good and had continuity, but i soldered them anyway. not sure if it was ground issues or air box issues. Went 150kms today with no problems. thanks for the feedback and the help. You guys are awesome.
