I ride the 2006 Apex (Atak) which has not changed much. It's either don't mess with a good thing, or change it once you know that change is for the better.
I suspect that they will change it for next year.

I don't see yamaha coming out with a sled that has a supercharger or turbo unles it can still run 87 octane. There are a lot of trail riders out there (myself include) that ride in northern canada where u cant guarantee you'll come across a pump with 91 octane.

the 06 r1 motor is still the 5 valve motor in our sleds. 07-08 are the new 4 valve head engines. just found my title to my 07 r1 today. the hp sae printed on the title is 176.1 hp
