After much research I decided to purchase a seat jack for my 2014 Apex X-TX. Unfortunately the install did not go well and fit on my machine was horible (to say the least). After reading the vague instructions 4 times (to ensure I did everything correctly). You can see the results below. The seat is way too high and yet it still does not clear the exhaust body work and actually scratched it. Tried to e-mail vendor and message bounces back. Website domain looks like it expired and got taken over by someone else. Really unimpressed.

When looking at pics of the Jack installed. I almost think that the angle brackets are upside down and to far forward. Well the seat jack is to far forward anyway and the Jack is way to high. Something is not right but that is overstating the obvious. Is there any other way to install the brackets?
If you look at the pic the brackets seem lower and the front of the seat is at the genisis part on the seat of the sled.

I'm going to try flipping the brackets tonight. That said, I took the left one off the seat and installed it. Then took th right one off and installed it. Instructions also states "The slides must be installed upward" which is what I did.
Stay tuned.

From my install of a seatjack, I would say the same. They are upside down.
Keep in mind, you will probably not only have to flip upside down, but swap sides as well due to the angle they were made.
When I mocked mine up, I loosely attached the rails to the seat and found the right position on the tunnel, then marked the spot on the tunnel before drilling. That way I knew of any clearance issues and could do minor adjustments.
Good luck!

Yeah, I figured that. Wish they would just provide proper instructions.
As I said i will try to night, but I'm concern when they are flipped they will hit the exchanger hose covers. Guess I'll find out soon enought.

For my RX-1 I had to notch the hose cover plastic slightly to make clearance for the brackets. I agree, the instructions are horrible but take your time and test fit everything as you go.
Well I give up. Either this product is a piece of crap or they mixed and matched parts for my shipment. Either way it's going back. I was looking for a simple bolt on solution and this certainly is not it. Anyone know of another manufacture that makes something similar?
Can someone tell me how I am supposed to slide the seat on with the hose in the way. It's directly in front of the opening on the mount bracket. Not to mention the obvious problems of flow restriction and hose rub through.
Below is the result of inverting the brackets and switching sides.

might be a stupid reply, but everywhere I've check says the seat jack is only compatible up to 2012, maybe something with the mounting changed?
Also, does the seat fit without the brackets?

Interesting. I had not read that anywhere. Of course they no longer have a website so I'm not sure where anyone would look that up. Doesn't say that in the Royal catalogue.
Unfortunately the seat does not fit without the brackets.

royal shows nothing past 2012, I almost feel like you got the sear for the 06-10 models,
if the seat doesn't fit without the brackets it's definitely not the right seat,

Are you sure thats the correct seat for an Apex? If I remember correctly it should say Apex Jack on the side. Wish I could help as I have one on my 2011 Apex, but I originally purchased it for my 2005 RX1, and made some brackets out of aluminum to retro fit to my 2006 & 2011. I'm in Orleans, PM me if you could use a second set of eyes.
Says Apex Jack on the side of the seat. Also shows Apex 2011 on the box

if the seat won't even sit flat without the brackets its the wrong seat, I'd send it back,

I don't think it is the right seat,I have one on my 2006 Attak and it fits perfect but is not worth the money.kidastra said:if the seat won't even sit flat without the brackets its the wrong seat, I'd send it back,

they are way to pricey new, but seeing that nobody else makes them jack industries can charge whatever. I always see them going for sale on craigslist and kijiji
