Hey bulldogbones...

ECU for the cat is going to speedwerx for the re-program... stock,210, and 240hp settings...

As stated... if this thing works as good as it looks this will be my next..

Me too :winter:

Sherlock, that is one goooood looking sled, I love the orange/black colour sceme....that's what I had on my 06 F7..very nice, I almost feel bad for it being sandwiched between a couple of Doos.

hehehe.. ya i know eh... the one under the cover is an 11 XRS 800.... its motor lasted to 1700 miles before "boom.....rattle..rattle...seize" the 12's have new cyllinders/pistons... problems are supposed to be fixed.. we will see. for myslef... this is the longest i have ever gone without buying a new sled... just because my yammies are working oh so good, and nothing really caught my eye... and i wont by a first year sled.. but we are a close group of buddies... so will be trying this cat for sure...

i still love the XF1100 turbo sno pro... same sled... 141" track. this F1100 trubo is 128"

From what I have read the 2012 cat turbo hits a wall on the top side. 110-114 for mph which is realistic and good number but the cat guys automatically fiquired 120 box stock.
Ya,it appears they are not as fast up top as the old style z1 turbo, but kick the older turbo around bad under 100 mph,i think the first year, will be platged with some problems like all sleds have, but the turbo guys will get them sorted out.

560lbs and the apex is well into 600lb range.
They had one on digital scales, with just 3 gal. of fuel,at 602 lbs,all set to ride,i guess it was at the dealers, and the cheap dealer did not want to completely fill it,so if you do the math, its around 650 lbs fully loaded, what does our apex fully gased up weigh,i do think the important thing to see here,is the front end of the new cat may be lighter, twin vrs quad, and it may be better balanced, only time will tell.

560 dry is what I meant but a apex without snow stuck in the suspension has to be 100 lbs more then the new cat IMHO.

Weight with oil & fuel 2011 models

Apex 690 lbs
Apex SE 681 lbs
Apex XTX 699 lbs

Those weight numbers sound accurate. There is no weigh around the fact that a Yamaha is heavy. (hee hee, made a pun) But, I always like to think a sled with a burned down or blown up motor is even heavier!

With the speeds these hyper-sleds are pulling they need to be on the heavy side when a sudden cross-wind hits you at 110mph.

Well said,i had left yammi, for a year, from my 07 rtx to the new xpx800 doo and what a super light weight sled,i did not like it out on a lake at 100 plus, one day the crosswind, picked my sled up,and moved me at least a foot very fast, first time in a long time,i felt out of control, running down a lake bed,and in the tight twisty trails, this sled was always up on one ski,not likeing that at all,so some front end weight to me is very important.

More and more issues keep popping up on these new ACs...I don't think I'm too interested in getting one of these next year.

You and me both Grimm! I even went as far to go to the AC dealer this past fall. May be in a couple of years
