Hi guys
Was looking over my XTX the other day and I know it has the traditional 2" rear sag like most do. But I noticed when I lifted up the rear bumper that the front skid shock extended all the way out BUT then when I let go of bumper the rear sag again and the front skid shock pretty much fell completely back into the body of shock. Usually shocks are slow going back down but this shock fell down within like 2 seconds.
To me it seems shock is toast. Am I right in saying so?
What kinda shocks are you guys running when replacing old ones? Centre and rear shock.
Second how do you get rid of the sag ?
Is it stiffer coil springs over shocks or is it the torsion Springs?
I'm 5'11 250lbs
Any advice would be great

Sounds like your shocks need a refresh. How many miles on them. I had 7500 miles on mine an same deal but worse. Had them refreshed an sag is gone.

I would have them revalved while you have them out. Discuss your riding style with the rebuilder.

They only have 2200 km on the whole sled.
Is it easier to just get both skid shocks rebuilt/revavle or better to buy fox or elka aftermarket?
If I get shock redone will it solve my 2-3 inch sag or is that something else?
Thanks guys

Getting shocks refreshed cost me $60. I would try that before spending big bucks on different shocks. Re-valve will cost a little more but still way less than new shocks. Make sure everything is good and lubed up under there also.

Hey guys. Just so I understand what accually
Gives the Nytro the ride height? Is it the torsion springs or something else.
If it's the torsion springs would it be better to get stiffer ones considering I'm 255lbs?
Both shocks feel good now that there out of skid BUT when in sled the sled would drop a good 4-5 inches and sty there unless I grabbed rear bumper and lifted it back up.
Thanks guys

Hey guys sorry to be a bother . I was just reading on TY about torsion springs and their ratings. Yamaha only seems to list the K=1200Nmm/deg spring and
K=1400Nmm/deg spring
For my 2013 Nytro XTX
I see guys comming up with 1900Nmm/deg spring and
2100Nmm/Deg spring
Does Yamaha accually have part numbers for theses springs or are they aftermarket units?
Like I said before I sit on my sled on it goes rite to bottom and when I get off it raises and inch and that's it. Grab bumpers and lift up it moves the 4-5 inches to top.
That's torsion springs isn't it not lifting suspension back up?

I just went through having my center and rear shock rebuilt/valved and put them back on and the rear has no recoil or rebound when pushing down the rear still. I tried different adjustments to see if there was any difference and no changes. I ride an 09 Nytro RTX as well. Any suggestions or did I just get railroaded, and should I look into a new rear shock.Getting shocks refreshed cost me $60. I would try that before spending big bucks on different shocks. The rear shock is only there for dampening as there is no spring on it. The torsion springs give the sled it''s rear ride height. All you can do is try to reduce friction or put another type of skid in it

Yes that's what I was thinking to.
I'm waiting for my Star kit to come in.
I was looking at the kit and it looks like it gets rid of some of the pieces that could cause binding or friction which is good
I plan on greasing every pivot joint and cross shaft to help get rid of the friction .
I was going to put '09'Apex RTX torsion spring
In get try and get ride hieght back considering I'm 255lbs but there on back order. Go figure lol

I have some used 1600 springs that fit the xtx. 125 for th set.
Also make a 4 position torsion spring adjuster. 4th position is one step stiffer preload than the stock adjuster.

Hi Guys,
Looking to get the ride height adjusted on my 09 xtx.
Should I go with the Hygear Torsion Spring spacers
Or
Get a heavier Torsion Spring?
Bigger guy here just looking to increase the ride height.
Thank you for the help!

Going with heavier springs is your best bet. Travis at Barn of Parts (site sponsor) can likely hook you up with some Apex XTX springs that will work well for you.
