Well, better late than never! I've been so wrapped up in a lot of family related stuff that I haven't had much time for anything else!

Despite all that, conditions now seem to be shaping up nicely around the area as we got another 4-9" (10-23 cm) dumped on us last night. There's more snow in forecast for the next couple days and the temps aren't supposed to get any were near above freezing for the next 10 days.

It started out looking good in November with lots of (too much!) snow for deer season. Then things looked like we were gunna have a green Christmas as we had a big warm up for the first part of December and a lot of the snow pack melted down. Fortunately, things cooled off before we lost all of the snow and what was left made excellent base for the foot or more (+30 cm) of powder we've accumulated since. Recall last year, we had all kinds of snow but never had a warm up to make base so we had deep powder all the way down to dirt until April!

The trails are still recovering from the big warm-up in early December, with icy conditions in some corners and there is still a wet area on the trail to the falls north of County Road 500. With that said, most of the trails should be in pretty good shape by this weekend with the cold temps and snow we are looking at now!

The temps have warmed up to the upper 20Fs (-2C) during the day but that also means more snowfall. The trails are in good shape and off trail riding is excellent. The 10 day forecast looks like things are going to stay the way they are/improve the snow conditions (stays below freezing, at least some snow accumulation every day). Good start to the season so far!

The weather forecast looks pretty good, we haven't had much in the way of accumulation the last couple of days but the highs haven't gotten up any where near the freeze/thaw mark. There is a little snow in the forecast but nothing like the storm out East. There are tons of snow sleds on the trails so it doesn't take long for a freshly groomed trail to turn into washboard on the weekends. That being said, conditions are really good.

The day after Ground Hogs Day! Well shadow or no, we'll still have snow...and probably till MAY! (Holy crap, an unintentional limerick!) We could use more snow, especially to groom the trails with, as the lack of snow in the northern lower peninsula has brought a ton of sledders up north. Off trail riding is still good since we haven't had any warm ups but without fresh powder, even untouched areas have begun to settle. Not much snow in the forecast but the temps are still staying cold too...

We did receive about 4 inches (10 cm) of snow over the weekend, healed up the trails nicely. Looks like we are headed for a deep freeze by Saturday, with the highs reaching only 0F (-18C). Still, lots of snow if you can brave the cold...

We are bitter cold with actual air temps not even reaching 0F (-18C) for a highs and dipping down near -25F (-32F) at night. We have had some good snow fall but with no warm ups, its all powder, no base. Fun for LTXs and above but it would be interesting taking a shorty Apex into an untracked field...

Should be pretty nice for riding this weekend as temps are closer to where they should be: in the 20s (-6C). That may also mean more "fair weather" sledders meaning the trails will get pounded. But, either way it will be nice to have decent temps to ride in.

Are the trail conditions going to how up till this week end?
Time will tell, it's supposed to get pretty warm this week during the day, near 40F (4C), and get just below freezing at night. With as much snow as we've had this year, I'm thinking we should survive until this weekend ok but if it stays like this for more than a week, it's going to put a serious hurt on the trails.

Did the warm weather today do much damage to the trails? i'm suppose to be heading up thurs day for a week, hoping this warm week don't hurt it real bad! any info. would help. thanks
This whole week has been warm but its been getting below freezing at night, the trails are setup hard in the morning but will definitely soften quickly. We had a lot of snow but 40Fs (+4C) with sun and wind really puts a hurt on the snow pack. I'm thinking the trails will be alright but not the best this weekend.

Will do...hopefully at the very least it will continue below freezing every night to slow the bleeding...

Well the weather took the worst possible turn...rain. They were calling for a 50% chance of it today but not in significant amounts. I heard it start at about 5:30 this morning and it has been raining off and on ever since. The trails are for sure going to be sloppy at best, bare and icy in places at worst. The forecast for the next 10 days doesn't look good: 40Fs (+4C) for a high nearly every day. This could very well be the end of this season, very surprising considering how winter has been up to this point.
