I wasn’t sure with covid and life in general how much is get out. So I picked up this used 2014 viper xtx with a MCX 190 kit. It was stretched to 162 and has the updated 36” front end. The viper was the only 4stroke I haven’t had so figured try one and they are cheap.
It’s got 7500kms on it so I’ve went through everything. A few surprises.

I did find a few things that I was not expecting but given the mileage
The header was cracked in the typical spot. So found a new take off 15 with the gusset.
The rail was cracked where the scratcher was installed. I think this was the cause plus all the trail riding this sled did started it to crack. Was going to replace but decided to weld and repowder. Also added a zbroz center shock spring.
Steering lower bracket was broken on the aluminum piece so ordered the updated kit and installed.

I also installed a skidoo xm summit brake, rer/dimmer button, and Polaris hand/thumb warmer switches. I did this same mod to my sidewinder and worked perfectly. The rer is a push button start.
The push button start I used a mini relay and a timer relay to kill power after the power cycles for 20sec so I can’t kick it over while riding. The hella relay I added cause the starter solenoid might be to much current for the rer button.
I also added a magnetic tether. Bracket is from Canada sled parts. It’s more for the vertical steering so I had to modify. But he’s making me a different one for the lay down steering. Will bolt to the bottom of the riser and bend up.

Wanted to keep the stock look but give it a fresh look. Worked with a local wrap guy and come up with a variation of the stock looking graphics.

I wanted to replace the screen that the mcx panel vent comes with cause riding in the trees I’ll definitely have a hole in it. So search around a bit and decide to get Tom at Xtreme vents to make me one. Sent a template to him. So excited to cover up that hole with something stronger.

Anyway pretty happy with how it turned out and definitely a low budget sled.
Similar to to the sidewinder I had. I’m not a red guy but it’s starting to grow on me.
Thanks to all the fellas on here that have helped me to get the issues figured out. Cheers!!!
