Welcome to the Holiday inn! My next act is at 9:00 and don't forget to tip your waitress. Best stories in town here on stage.
Most interesting rumor I read today is what if Suzuki now goes and works with Polaris on their pretty much non-existent 4-stroke program? That got me wondering if Suzuki could also sell Polaris the Cat 800 2-stroke motor that is much more powerful and reliable than the current, POS Liberty 800.
I'm guessing that Suzuki could sell motors to both Cat and Polaris. I've been assuming that Cat would continue to purchase some Suzuki motors to run in their fleet while also producing their own motors. I can't see Cat, or most any sled OEM being able to re-power their entire 2015 line-up of sleds with all new motors of their own design and manufacture. So, that would leave Yamaha as a place to buy motors as they could take care of Cat on the 4-stroke side.
I suspect the split from Suzuki was due to likelihood that Suzuki, like Yamaha, views 2-stroke sled motors as a dead end road and Cat will take over to produce their own 2-strokes. If that is the case they will need 4-stroke motors and Yamaha seems like the best place to buy them.

It was just a rumor I read on Snowest. http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/show ... p?t=330024
It was an interesting twist, to me anyway. Polaris owns or has some type of agreement with Weber for the 750 twin. But, they've not done much at all in the 4-stroke market since '06 when they began offering the 750 turbo. My understanding is they do not build any 4-stroke motors in their plant. Their ATV's use a combination of Weber for the big ones, Fuji for most of the others and KTM for their sport quads which I'm not sure they even offer anymore. Seems like Suzuki would be a natural fit if they want to offer more choices in sled motors.

Didn't know that. Call me a doubting Thomas, but I still don't believe the rumors regarding YMC and Cat.

I know they are NOT rumors. But to what extent it evolves is anyones guess. Maybe they are producing some small stuff or just one motor or maybe there is more to it. My source just says they are making some motors for them and it is not the 120 engine he was talking about. I let the hint slip why I know this but no one seemed to catch it. By Feb. we will know what it amounts to anyways. All I know is I can't ride my sled here.......just my fat tire mountain bike is getting the miles.

The only spin i can get now is on my quads.Things are frozen here but the snow we had wasn,t enough to ride(no base).A few storms coming this weekend but im on the raining side of the low pressure .Seen on a sled forum dealers are selling sleds like hot cakes with this recent snow in key areas.Yamaha is telling its dealers to move inventory(double the rebates)Be nice to know if the apex is back next year?journeyman said:OVR4D said:Supa Dexta said:OVR4D wrote:
