- 2015 Yamaha Viper LTX SE with Push Turbo
Well they pulled the head and things are not good! Piston and head has significant erosion. No factory warranty. I'm in trouble now! What do I do? I sure wished I would have had gauges or could find out what caused this!!

Terrible! Gauges are good to keep track of stuff and for dialing in, but if you get bad gas or if there's detonation, you're on your own, the viper has no way of protecting against that. On the push turbo is there any type of innercooler?

7 PSI is too much on pump gas with stock fuel pump and stock injectors. You were on the edge of being lean as well as maybe got a little gas that wasn't very good and the combination caused detonation.
I can fix the head and do a complete rebuild, I just fixed a PUSH kit with the same issues. Call with any questions. 605-387-2833 or Srxspec@Gwtc.net

The PUSH has a liquid to air intercooler that works off of the engine coolant to cool the air intake charge.

So does the push turbo come with any type way to supply extra fuel whether it's a bigger pump or bigger injectors? I couldn't even safely run 6 pounds with my mpi kit, more like 5 pounds to still be safe, but now with the upgraded fuel pump it'll run 6 pounds, 7 pounds, 8 pounds and that's as far as I've went, not on a stock compression engine tho. Mine with stock fueling parts at 7 pounds would've leaned way out within a matter of seconds.

No, it runs off of stock injectors and stock fuel pump.

I guess it'll prolly work for short distances, I certainly wouldn't trust that at low elevation and long wot runs, an upgraded fuel pump or bigger injectors are much much cheaper than an engine rebuild!

What in the hell was yamaha thinking when designing the fuel system on these? My mcx nytro never had one problem with this i ran 15lbs at 800-1500ft on 91 pump gas and when I pulled it apart to take heads him out everything looked new still and I had even checked valves because of use of launch master and all was within specs with over 3000 miles of use.

MCX is still using the same setup on the vipers. They are running 15psi with the stock pump and 3 extra injectors. With all the injectors they are able to supply enough fuel with very little fuel pressure in the lines which is why they can use the stock pump. What in the hell was yamaha thinking when designing the fuel system on these?
