Been said over and over.......180-200 HP naturally aspirated Apex motor and a new and improved riding rear skid would sell huge.
Good luck! Not without a monstrous gear reduction!
I think Yamaha should just add some more tech and weight...like they do each year.
Ya I hear ya I love my XTX!

Wow is all I can say about my new 2015 ape xtx, this machine rides and handles very well considering all the horrors I heard about the skid being oversprung, not my 15,at least with everything on soft and transfer set to full transfer, all I need to do now is take some preload off the front coil over shock in the skid, and maybe install my pilot skis. I just cant believe how well this bridges the bumps, compared to my 06 attack or any of my 121 apes, and now the part I was afraid of,the dreded ck skid,i had that same skid in my 07 rtx and I hated it,rough riding and liked to high side, not the case with the extra length skid, all this sled needs now is the tallest windshield and wola,I will be happy, its still unstudded and so far in about 600 miles its been ok,all soft snow here for now,i did hook up my dura scratchers just in case. But what really impresses me,is the new exhaust kick, from the xeup exhaust, man it kicks hard from 3200 engagement right to 10,000 and creeps to 10,500 and already spun the sled to 105 gps speedo read 109 packed trail and not real hard at that. So its hard to say this sled needs more power,ya I know 160 hp maybe, but feels like way more, there clutching is spot on,so is the gearing for the length,i am coming off a 2013 procross turbo w/ a TD stage 4 tune, and this anamil would spank it to 70-80 only past 100 would the cat pass it,and not by a lot.

Please be awesome... Apex motor Viper chassis. Something!!! CR said in one if his posts that he's going to be riding a viper. I'm Hopeful that this is why! 20000$ for a turbo viper is steep....

I read it the other way...he realized Yamaha wasn't going to come out with anything ground breaking and settled for a Viper...as it's the future of the company.

Not sure if the 4 hole motor would work in that chassis. The gearbox on the current Viper is too small the way it is and doesn't have enough gear for adding extra turbo power while AC does have a different gearbox in their turbo 1100 being it is a 2 hole motor, not a 3 holer. I may be wrong but I just can't see there being enough room for the Apex motor in that chassis. .......but who knows, obviously I am not an engineer. Just my thoughts.

If the Apex dies, I'm on the hunt for one of the last models and keeping it for a long time. Either that or buy a viper and turbo it and cross my fingers on reliability.

I have to agree with others that a new rear skid in the Apex and about a 20 HP increase is all they need for the current Apex. That would sell to the Apex faithful.

All the Apex really needs is a new front suspension and it won't be anything Arctic Cat designs.

How come no spy photos yet? Aren't they out there testing it in real world conditions? Do they expect 2016 buyers to be the beta testers?

I'd like to know if Yamaha is going to build more NEW sleds in Japan as I was told a couple years ago at the Mpls show. How long is the AC venture going to last?
I heard a rumor while in the UP of Michigan last week that AC has an all new chassis coming out. If that were true what would it mean for the Yam/AC relationship?
