I was making good gains up until about a month ago. Then it fell pretty good.
Trade wars was the trigger for me, the last 30 days or so sucked my money from the market. Kinda funny #$%&* bragged how well our stocks were doing since taking office, then almost all of the gains gone and not a word.

My 401 has been rocking since the trump train took office!
Yes it did and he had no problem telling you about it. Since it has been losing most of the gains, crickets.

When the stock market started going up and down by the 100's is when I started so see big changes.

Lord knows he's not perfect but maybe before laying blame on the president for your 401k woes, I would first take a serious look at your financial adviser(s) as my 401k thru John Hancock has been kicking some serious butt this year (taken from my last statement 7/1-9/30):

Yours must be in a conservative fund like my wife's, hers looks about the same. Mine had made me well over 15% when the #$%&* took over, which he had no problem telling us that fact. Then after his trade war started I have lost 75% of that gain and no mention of this from him. :dunno:

I do have mine in fairly risky funds to make money, as I still have 6 years until I retire. It is only a loss on paper so not too worried......yet, unless we have another 08 crash where I lost a crap load then, and it took almost 5 years to recover what all I had lost. If we are in for another crash, hopefully it recovers by the time I retire.

There are no guarantees in buying stocks and some peeps don’t have the temperament for equities. If you feel you need to blame someone then then blame the fed chairman he is being way too hawkish with raising interest rates. Normalization is his rap sheet which is a bunch of crapolia. The tariffs with China is a positive move to reel them in and stop cheating. A Little pain now will pay off big time in the future and stocks always fluctuate. You have to ask yourself where will the market be in 6 months to a year then make adjustments. The ole hockey saying is the same as stocks skate to where you think the puck will be not where it is now.

If your 401k is taking a beating, its your fault, not the president or the economy.
Learn how to invest. From time to time move your investments around if your seeing a slide in returns.
Get more conservative as you get older, seek out financial advise if you still cant make it work.
your 401 k is always going to earn and lose money. Thats just the nature of the beast. Its up to you to pay attention and capitalise or minimise those investments. Blaming someone else is really just silly

Like Obama being quiet and doing nothing about all the murders in his home town of Chicago. Crickets. You are responsible for the performance of your 401(k), not President Trump.

Hmmm, We used to have a pension but were talked into moving it over into a 401k so they (wall street) can have our money to play with. Guess I need to reach out to Fidelity and ask them how to fix this.....
My point was #$%&* did nothing but brag when the market was doing well, since his handy work of the last 30/45 days has caused the markets to fall he has not said squat, moved on to other crap.
Lets hope his messing with the tariffs does pay off in the long run, so far hurting everything to do with steel and aluminum right now.
2020 sleds, not just Yamaha, will be even more expensive with the price of materials to build them at a profit, but in the long run I guess we will be ok with this.

Not sure how we got off topic.
:ot:
Was not the intent when i created this thread 64 pages ago. I also never talk poltics which never get anyone any where. Politcal opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one. Good or bad:-o

I bet it isn't. As stated before, it wasn't the motor that led to diminished sales.
They where fourth in sales WITH a two stroke in the lineup, so what difference did it make?
Why are we harping on 2 stroke engines so much in this thread? There isn't a 2 stroke engine made I would trade for my Yamaha four stroke.
I think MORE people are going with four stroke.s, not less. That's what I see out here in New England anyway.....
Slowly, but surely but not may new sales. Son in laws 2 vectors replaced his 2 ski doos, neighbor has a vector from a 2 stroke yammy, another has an apex from a machz, another has an apex from an rx1 from a ski doo and polaris, another a nytro and vector from a machz and mxz....just in a fairly small radius of me, among those I know who ride. But the only new sled was mine last year...the sw...the rest are searched for, and one picked up in central Pa, from here...upstate ny, so they will travel to get a used yammy 4 stroke.

Those numbers are very misleading. It shows sled sales. Trails sleds ride almost exclusively trails, Crossover sleds ride mostly trails. Some mountain sleds are on the trails. I see and ride with people who ride mountain sleds almost entirely on trails. How many 121's are in the hills? None. There is no way there are more people riding mountains than trail riding.
I agree the mountain segment is a great place to introduce new engine/clutch tech as mountain riding is very hard on these components. The trail market is the bread and butter of the industry.
Again, central ny, true....when we got the 40 inch snowfall last March, a mountain Polaris broke the trail behind our house. My sidewinder wasn't up to the task, or it was burrowing for earthworms..lol!
But yeah, we see all kinds of sleds on our trails. No mountains around here worthy of those long tracks..but they are common.

I love politics...but not here. I would add, I have had great success hiring a fudiciary certified financial planner for my 401 management. They get 1%, but dam, they know how to play the game.

Here's a question...I THINK I read that Arctic Cat dominated racing last year, winning a very high percentage of major races? On an 'old' procross design? Just because something is 'new' doesn't make it better. Obviously this 'old' design is highly competitive...and with the turbo yammy under the hood, it's a hell of a sled, bar none.

Come March 2019, the 2020 announcement will be very interesting for sure. :sled1:
The group I ride with is 5 Yamaha 4s, 1 Yamacat 4s and 1 Polaris turbo. I see lots of Yamaha 4s on the trails, eateries and fuel stops. They are not going extinct in my area like reference here seem to elude too. They are here to stay and if they all quit making them, 4s will still be going on and on.
Lets pray this snow we have been getting is still here Dec 1st.
