There is a lot of BRP sleds on the trails in this neck of the woods and seeing more 900 aces also, talked to a guy on the trail the other day on a new 900 ace sport expedition and he found the throttle took some getting use to, but liked the sled a lot, had decent power 95 hp and very good on fuel he had 2000 miles on so far this season, the sled fit his riding style and was very pleased with his purchase, I must say I liked his sled and options he had.
Yes everyone is different. Myself I'd have a hard time with a non Turbo 900 version. Hard to go backwards on power. Look at me saying that after having a flashed SW.... LOL!! That just shows again how the Apex was such a good motor. The sound, the hook up and the ProLine clutching make that old thing still a hoot to drive.

Quick observation. A year ago today the 2020 release thread was up to 123 pages. Read into that whatever you like.

Yamaha needs a 90-95hp sled and also 150-160 hp sled and a price that can be reached by snowmobilers, I feel this is where Yamaha is lacking, if Yamaha just re stickers the Viper and Winder this year then its over for the future of Yamaha sleds.

Also heard rumors of the 1049 being replaced with the 998 without a turbo.

Not sure what the HP would be in a non turbo, I think in the sport SXS Yamaha is using the 998 and is around 112HP, but they could tune it to be the same HP as 1049, not sure why they would though, would like for Yamaha to use their new Rm1 engine though that would be a stump puller 200hp N/A and meets emissions, would be a beast with a turbo.

Well how much does a Winder xtx weight in at?Ya, the engine is super reliable.
Same old story with the Apex, not only did the suspension and chassis suck as well as being nicknamed 'rx ton' in its early form, the chassis and suspension were also the highest maintenance of all brands.
I didn't mind though as the constant fixing made me a lot of dough in my shop.

I thought I heard they are more than 112 HP now, the early SxS was but somewhere I read they bumped them up.

I guess 20/80 wants me to trade my Viper in on a Ski Doo I have no idea what that's about. $5 or $10.000 I wouldn't buy one of those things. I can't believe I'm saying this but I would definitely by a Polaris before a Ski Doo.

It all seems pretty sad to me that the Yamaha 2021 sled discussion is based on a single cylinder mid sized sled. The sledding season is so short and really survives on emotions like passion and excitement...things that are really missing in our anticipation of the 2021 sleds.
Its been so quiet on the Yamaha side maybe there is actually something brewing?
Lol
I will be as surprised as anyone.
Here's hoping...

Oh that’s another rumor I have heard, Polaris jumping in with their 4s Razor motor/turbo combination....as said a rumor.
