What skis/carbides do you run? Did you try putting more pressure down on the skis?I can confirm that even on the bigger S-TX the steering is effortless
Any negatives?

I'd like to try one myself. I'd order the Thundercat though. I like the lower gearing, and the shock options.

I would guess that Yamaha will offer the power steering on the SRX in 2023...but who knows...otherwise the Tcat would definitely be the way to go.

If the sleds are equal in track, traction and left completely stock, a TCAT will beat the Mach, even from a dig. Mostly because of the gearing in the TCAT. An SRX may have a tougher time because of its higher gearing, but I bet its a tie. In a drag race, the transfer of the G4 hurts it. The best hole shot is with all the track on the ground.
Could be right here. The TCAT did show better results.
I'm on a Yamaha Site so i compare to the Winder.
We must not forget these are everyday TRAIL sleds we need to compare.
I seriously doubt any stock Winder with 96 picks set up for trail will be any where near me in the beginning.
DRAGY runs next week. I'll have numbers to back up my beliefs.
I removed the transfer on mine for trail riding. My front end dangles on the ground & i was taking 850 POO POO from the dig.
Last year this POO POO trounced a stock TCAT until about 500 feet. It TROUNCED my Ecoboost Winder also.
AGAIN, TRAIL sleds.
I think the TCAT was faster on top than a Winder also.
Launch Control is NOT needed on this 900. It's instant throttle launches it as it is.
As much as this 900 has great throttle response & the sled reacts immediately, the Winder at 100 still pulls your arms out of the socket.
I DOO miss that!
The crazy 998 pull!
I also miss just knowing i had a Yamaha motor between my legs.
But the CATisms washed away those great feelings
Real results next weekend.
Gettin' the posse all riled up as we speak

Just stock carbides so far. Front suspension (clicker) set to medium, and rear block set to medium. Haven't touched anything else, will play with it once get more miles on trails. What skis/carbides do you run? Did you try putting more pressure down on the skis?
Any negatives?

I went back and forth on this. I went Yamaha becauseI'd like to try one myself. I'd order the Thundercat though. I like the lower gearing, and the shock options.
1. the price was about the same
2. Yamaha dealer was closer
3. I wasn't going to go with the iact shocks, I wanted the QS3's so that was a wash. Wires going to snowmobile shocks has never worked long term historically for any brand.
4. I like the color of the LTX, wish it had the black seat though. If the SRX had EPS it would have been hard NOT to order that one
5. I have a ton of Sidewinder clutches and clutch parts.
6. I ride with 2 T-Cats, I had to be different.
If the Cat dealer was closer and the new Cat primary clutch had some more time on it, the decision would have been harder.

Champlain Valley Motorsports is back in business. I'd order through them. They are 10 minutes from where I work.I went back and forth on this. I went Yamaha because

I'd get an eps T-cat with manual shocks.

If I was to add a (7) to that list IMO it would be Sidewinder resale value is stronger than the Cat.I went back and forth on this. I went Yamaha because
