It is very cool that Polaris is pushing the boundaries and building a trail rocket turbo two stroke but for me I am done with two strokes for my trail sled.

Idk.... when the 4s industry went 200h/p, I've never looked back.
I'm sure the big bore twins have come along way in terms of reliability. Just don't find it appealing, turbo or not.
I hope they do well....I've never owned Polaris. Mostly cuz a few of my buds did. So I had to do the right thing & pick up a Yamaha, Cat or Doo. Lol

I thought I was done with 2s for good also. But, the weight of my Apex is something I still have not come to terms with in 17yrs of trying. It is very cool that Polaris is pushing the boundaries and building a trail rocket turbo two stroke but for me I am done with two strokes for my trail sled.
I ride the wife's MXZ600 and it is sooo light and maneuverable that it makes me wonder why I've held out this long.
If it wasn't for the Genesis 4cyl, I'd a converted back yrs ago.

In a year I thought there wouldn't be much of anything new, Polaris has proved me wrong. Yamaha and Cat had better upped the displacement on that 800(and refined it further), as well as upped the boost by at least three pounds on the Turbo.

As much as it's intersting to see continued innovation in two-strokes, I have zero desire to own one. I can't stand that chainsaw buzz sound they make. I often switch with others that have two strokes and can't wait to get back on my tuned Winder with that sweet four stroke boosted melody playing to my ears, not to mention the massive low to midrange power that even a boosted two stroke can't deliver.

Its so nice to see Polaris finally entered a 4 stroke into their lineup, turbo trailsleds, new 900r engine, lightweight chassis, shows their listening, we have not heard the last in development from there 4 stroke engines you can count on it, Polaris has been testing their turbos on their 2 strokes for a bit now, a 900r turbo is coming and a turbo 4 stroke is coming, just a matter of time, Yamaha should have some nice new graphics this year.

The Prostar S4 Adventure indy 137 with 1000cc 4 stroke twin is more than what I paid for my Sidewinder and its only 100hp.

The boost VR1 has either a 1 inch or or 1.35 Camoplast R rated track. Anyone know what the R rating is for? Maybe a speed rating like tires. They must be serious about speed.

The r rating caught my attention too. Camso doesn't currently make an r rated track in a 137 length. You have to switch to 2.52 drivers and run a 136 or 144 if you want an r rated trail track. The boost VR1 has either a 1 inch or or 1.35 Camoplast R rated track. Anyone know what the R rating is for? The r rating is for "race" and is made more durable to handle higher hp/speeds.

All modern 2 strokes have knock protection. The polaris system works very similiar to the gap tunes. Basically pulling timing when knock is detected and when the max timing is pulled you get a warning. Id imagine on the polaris boost it pulls a bit of boost as well as timing but one can only speculate. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of engine protection system is provided with this Boosted 2 stroke!
But yeah, should be a great Power to Weight ratio set up, if it stays together, because we all know that Boost is addicting!
On a side note, the 850 polaris wasnt known for durability so I cant imagine forced induction helping things but will try to be optimistic. Love that there pushing new technology, its what drives others to improve.

Just marketing hype. Ski Doo is fabulous at it..The boost VR1 has either a 1 inch or or 1.35 Camoplast R rated track. Anyone know what the R rating is for? Maybe a speed rating like tires. They must be serious about speed.

$23,899 CAD before tax. Scary to think what the new Winders are gonna be listed at.
