Keep the 23.. There is only 1-2mph difference between the two, but the 23 pulls harder midrange..

Yup what sledfreak said, the 23 pulls way harder in anykind of snow, and the 24 only beats it at 2500 feet on glare ice,but the 24 will get you some beter milage at the pumps though,if i still had my 23 i would have it in!

I see things a bit different. There is no way a 150 hp Apex can pull a 24 gear to a full shift in the clutches. If it did, it would pull over 130 mph on the gun. Even a 1 to 1 clutch ratio with a 23-38 gearing is practically impossible with 150 hp. Having that said, we have gotten better luck with a 23 gear for top speed even with the shorties with speed tracks. It may require a bit of clutch calibration while gearing down, but IMO gearing down allows more clutch efficiency with limited hp. This is from my experience and many others. You can rest assured if your speed is down, its not because your out of gear with 23-38. Of course this doesn’t apply to the turbo guys.

Just my .02cHi dano,i agree w/you about the 23 gear,as right now i dont have one,but my front primary has shifted out as far as the secondary wil allow, until i cut .120 off the helix, than it may hall it down into the secondary a bit more,i was as shocked as anyone to see my primary completely cleaned, all except the last .125 -.150 thousands of the sheeve left. But like i stated i do enjoy the better fuel milage to,and this rr bed i was on for the max top speed on that day was absolutely perfect,in 40 years of riding i have never seen conditions better.
