I'm curious what the logic is behind NOT having wheels outside the rails in the rear? Is this just weight and rolling resistance?

I would think that adding the wheels might add some stability as well as keep the track flatter as they should tend to widen the base?

And of course there's the decreased hyfax contact.

Only con is cost.

4th wheel

PRO:
Have the 4 wheel kit on mine with oversize 8" wheels and so far no issues plus the larger wheels will roll easier and side benefit of less hyfax wear and better gas mileage, so its a win-win situation.
CON:
Cost is $200 for 4 wheels and outside mounting hardware

No cons, except the money! tons of pros!!
8.4 inch. Turbo Dynamics...

Priced out a Larson Racing 4th wheel kit today. Deletes the trihub completely. He sent me some pictures and it looks like a awesome kit and the guy is local. Price is a little higher than the others at $300. Wondering if its worth it.

I have become more of a comfort rider (therefore LTXDX ordered) than a hammer the bumps guy and wonder if there really would be a benefit of adding the outside wheels?

AC has done this for yrs, I was not aware it was or is a problem. Is it?

Yamadoo. Aka Mark

How much does it effect the sled for sidehilling??

We still have the 2 wheel as we do lots of severe sidehilling. I have not tried it with 4 wheel but suspect we would lose some sidehill ability, anybody that added 4 wheel chime in?

I found that the sled is more stable in the corners for us trail riders.

Thank you ;)!

That is kind of what I was thinking. As the machine starts to tip/lift inside ski I would think that even in the rear wider is better.

Your not such a bad guy even if you are from Wausau... :moon:

Moved away in '90 after being born and raised there. Still have some pretty good friends and connections there. Ma and Brother still there, daughter/son in law and grandkids are there (Kronenwetter) so I get through there a lot, but I don't miss it one bit. Green Acres is my theme song...
