'15 LTX DX
Was north with some buds last weekend. I have a '15 LTX DX, COTC w 8DN, and air box mod, and studded, about 2600 miles now. Realistically I'm 260 fully dressed. 2 of my buds have '15 XF 7000's which is exactly the same as mine except for shocks and clutches and no studs. They have 500 miles on them now. Both about 210 dressed. Dead stop, rolling stop, doesn't matter, they are EXACTLY the same in a race. Does the 50 lbs and studs make that much of a difference in resistance or is the 7000 clutching just plain better???

The Cat boys are mostly saying that the new Team Clutches found in the 16's are much better than the 15 and earlier. Not eating belts anymore but they are noisy as hell! Many of them are complaining about the noise at idle and some claiming embarrassing ...

The 800 I rode the Team Clutches worked great and much less noise than Yamaha Clutches. I think we may have to get used to Team in future. Just a guess though.

Time for a salad..........sorry I couldn't resist.

I eat em all day long! Lol. I'm 6' 3" tall so I'm not terribly bulgy just a little soft...I vet laughed from the boys for ordering greens instead of fries on the trail. They'll figure it out some day....

Glad someone still has a sense of humor on here!!. I have the same sled (14). Take a trip down to Hurricane this summer and blow there doors off next year!!!!

I think all future Yamaha sleds will be made in the states. Will it be in Thief River or their own facility......time will tell.

The 2015 cat 7000's came with heavier weights, the 2014's were too light and over revved. The 15's may be under revving a bit from what we like with our vipers and that may help with consistency, I've heard several reports from people with the cat 7000 that are running in the 105 mph range in perfect conditions with box stock sleds. I personally have never seen where studs slow you down, 1-2 mph maybe...the tad bit of speed you may lose you will more than gain back in low to mid range. Another thing to remember is that stock Yamaha clutches with stock components will not pull overdrive, cat gears in the 7000 are lower than the viper but if I remember right cat clutches are designed for approximately 15% overdrive so they are geared low for quick acceleration and pull overdrive for the same or better top speed.

My buddies 14 zr7000 with updated weights ran 105 on hard packed roads. Riding side buy side his sled ran strong against my modded Nytro.
