First test today with big HP....3rd pass blew my fairly new ultimax, it only had about 150 trail miles on it.
This big HP 270 hurricane tune just pulled that ultimax in two. During hard acceleration at about 90 mph or so. Good news is Travis BOP extra top piece of his bellypan protector did its job, you can see that would have been broke for sure as the piece has marks on it....glad I got that!
I lowered the setup to 50 degrees too, and it still is too much backpressure with orange TP and 33/35. That setup is fine for STOCK engine or whimpy tunes, but not the Hurricane tunes.
Im thinking getting some 8DN belts to test with now...
Dan
I break belts like crazy I’m telling ya!

I would bet the 8dn will work well with that setup. Lots of belt squeeze.
Whimpy Tunes? .....Oh yea that guy!
I will gladly tune your Winder Tuesday, for a cheese burger today!

Only 1 more washer to run 8dn lenght! If you make it run to high in secondary like Doo, your belt will rub on the primary shaft at idle....Yes you need to use a belt adjuster or shims for stock setup.....
You will end up with the 8DN running high in secondary, like a DOO.
I just posted a pic in another thread.

Yep already ran 8DN last season on buds....It sits exactly like my doo did with one washer.Only 1 more washer to run 8dn lenght! If you make it run to high in secondary like Doo, your belt will rub on the primary shaft at idle....
On my sled now I have an adjuster so that makes it easier.
Deflection is something that most guys have been setting for many yrs, not really anything new here. Just longer belt.
