so I have decided to install 96 studs on my ltx se. I purchased woody studs but the problem I have is with there "Q" pattern and the two outside studs on the third lug. I don't want to go with any studs on the outside. Thinking of taking the two outside ones and moving them inside? Any help would be great or even a pattern diagram

so on a ltx you wont even get two studs per flat with 96 studs a 121 track has 48 flats and will take 96 studs at two per and i always use my accutrax patern for them makes a V shape and i never stud the outsides to much loss of turning ability

I was under the impression that the 137 has 48 lugs. Woodys offers 96 studs for the sled. Accutrax pattern? Where can I find this thanks

maybe the pitch is only 48 but i dont think so. the accutrax patern is a metal patern i bought from parts unlimited i like it it fits right over the track and you mark your drill spots with a marker i use a paint marker and it only repeats like 3 times on the whole revolution of the track.

A traditional 121" track has a 2.52" pitch. 121 divided by 2.52 = 48 windows or lugs. If you put 2 studs per lug, you will have 96 studs.
Your 137" Viper has a track pitch of 2.86". 137 divided by 2.86 = 48 windows or lugs .... same as the traditional 121" track with a 2.52" pitch.

I'm thinking of using two per also. I always did on my 121. I'm sure you won't get the best lake runs with 96 studs but for trail safety I think it would be fine.

So a regular v pattern? Is there any clearance issues?

if you have any track rub on the top of the shock avoid the middle so it wont be metal on metal some skids do some dont if you do you should address that to as even the track will wear out the top eye on the shock if it rubs.

This was a major issue on the short track apex. But I didn't think the vipers had the issue?if you have any track rub on the top of the shock avoid the middle so it wont be metal on metal some skids do some dont if you do you should address that to as even the track will wear out the top eye on the shock if it rubs.

From what I'm reading and what I've saw. Vipers have no clearance issue with the proper studs at all. I'm still waiting for my sled to arrive but I'll be studing it.So a regular v pattern? Is there any clearance issues?

We have some bad ice sometimes and studs are a must for us.

You already purchased backers I assume? I rode one with 96 studs, double backers, 4 studs every other bar, I thought it handled good straight line and braking but felt kinda Wishy washy in corners, I actually felt more in control on a sled with no studs, you knew it was always gonna slide some, with the 96 studs it would slide some, hook some, kinda made it unpredictable. The torque on acceleration and engine brake when you let off can make it squirly if the track isn't planted good, if it were me and it's just my riding preference, I'd lean towards more than enough studs compared to not enough, generally it's 1 stud per hp, 144 studs works awesome on the viper, it keeps the track planted and straight and just makes it feel a little more stable and safe.
