The new header is part of the new twin-turbo setup (being tested now), but it could be used as an upgrade for a single mid-mount setup, using as much of the old kit as possible. I don't have much more info than that right now - stay tuned!

so at speed the air being pushed through the bulkhead by the track will cause too much back preasure dumping straight into the tunnel?? I never would have thought that would happen

Thing may even get worse.... imagine hill climb in deep snow... snow get packed to the front of tunnel (this always happens).. I can only imagine the back pressure then...

This sled will spend most of its time on the lake no deep snow with a speed track.

The sled cannot have the exhaust in the tunnel for high speed thats the difference. Us flat land guys ran into this the last few years with higher and higher speeds. The mountain guys don't produce the same pressure in the tunnel from the high speed track. To save yourself time/money and frustration do a rear exit exhaust. I run my turbo though an excell muffler with the Y pipe cut off and my downpipe hooked straight into the tunnel pipe to my muffler. It sounds awesome is muffled and you have a rear exit.

at high speeds there is a positive pressure in front of tack and feeds up into tunnel with a valance or spoiler in the front 1inch off the bottom that cures most of the positive pressure problem. add to the bulk head hundreds of cubic feet of spent exhaust things begine to build and slow you down no top end is what we had trouble with. on a flat lake no snow it was terrible. mcx turbo would drive away at 120 like i was towing a 340 olympic behind me . hope this helps. myself stay away from tunnel area dump into the stream of air passing over you it will create a vacume and help extract the exhaust from the pipe .also run the largest diameter pipe with a divoced wastegate thats where youll start to make big top end surge. track will be your limiting factor to insane speeds. might want a parachute in casr track spits out.

DONT RUN THE EXHAUST INTO THE TUNNEL! It won't run for crap! Been there, done that. Run it out the rear. I don't care how much weight it adds, get a pipe to the rear external part of the tunnel.

Anyway... does not add that much weight...
I do run a hindle slip on on the rx... and weight like 1/3 the stock muffler does.

the black 136 is in the Garage. My buddy bought it. It has the exhaust dump into the tunnel, i will look to see if it has a turndown. It ran 148mph so i think its is working ok...Like i said, i did not take it apart to see how it exited.

Does anyone have a tunnel dump that rides in the mountains ? Is it affected the same way ? Does more boost make it worse ?

I have a tunnel dump exaust but its a 3 inch pipe and it has a bend so it points straight forward so i dont have any problem with it plugging up.
