Aftermarket clutch weight testing from this weekend

Interesting. Does anyone know when the break in mode is over on a Sidewinder, or Cat ?
Is it calculated by engine hours, or miles driven ?

There is no break in mode. You slowly get more power while the motor loosens up. I've seen 4 strokes still gaining power at 2000 miles.

Yup,and some are just plain faster all the way thru there life, and stay stock. No they wont beat boosted same sleds, but just because someone is clutched vrs stock clutching means nothing on top end or midrange all the time. heck the sled clutched could stiull have a binding spring, bad roller and the total stock sled have everything just right, seen this many many times over the years,on all different sleds, poos, cats, yammies and doos, and a lot of our older sleds of yesteryear.

I should have left my clutch kit off until break in was complete
I might actually put it back to stock till I get to 1000kms or so

I thought I'd try and revive this thread. I'd love to hear what Shagman, NOS Pro and others have been up to and finding recently. I thought we'd have heard more about the OSP and Hurricane weights by now.

Terrible conditions in WI. this year. Coming back from upper Michigan cabin. We got 16-18 while I was up. Took a little spin. Trails have no base in WI. Just tough year for sledding without having a place in the UP. Just a FYI

At their recommendations ( and some others here) I went with the Thunder Products kit and 35/39 helix. Wrapped at 6-1. Also, have Thunder rollers in (all 3 touching btw. ) Rpms at initial squeeze have been from 8800-9000. But falls off to anywhere from 8400-8500 on prolonged wot run. 1008 miles on original 8JP. Thought all was pretty close to good, but just looked everything over and found this on primary.

R u running the 35/39 reverse angle?

NOT trying to ruffle any feathers here. IMO the 39 finish is to much for a stocker. I really feel like 37 finish is what you want STOCK. 38/39boosted all day. Just something I see at 1900 miles on mine with straight 38 and running eco trail TD TUNE. I know you can adjust weights for angle but after playing with mine the above is my opinion.

Yes. Sorry typo. I changed it in above post. 35/39 from Dalton. Also, have my secondary machined for coil bind. (Thanks again to NOS-PRO.)
sorry if i missed it, are you stock tuned? reason is if i recall my thunder spring is dark, but stock tune. is a different one used with tune?

Bone stock. No tune. Would think the only difference would be weights (according to rider weight) between guys with stock tune (not springs?)

just double checked, it is a black spring. he may have changed supplier or something? i will contact those guys as i am putting powertrail in it.

Heavy hitters and straight 38 is all have to say as it totally rocks.
I see you like your straight 38,that is what I have to try as well with my stage 4 boosted tune, sure hope it works out,i hate blowing belts, thats all I did in 13 and 14 with my boosted cat.
