D&D Powersports has pics on their Facebook page of a stainless steel bigdog barker exhaust for the Viper. I am new to this site so don't know exactly how to upload photos or I would have. I too am awaiting the arrival of my new sled like many on here. Viper ltx se in blue. I heard this exhaust when it was on the sled and it is hands down a much better sound than any other 4 stroke. They won't sell it if it doesn't make power either so good gains are expected I'm sure.

Here are the D and D exhaust pics

Studroe you say you heard it run with d and d can. Was it extremely loud to be annoying? :-o

I do not have any sound clips of it. I'm sure once a production sled shows up they will have a sound clip and dyno info on it. If I remember right I believe this was one of their 1100 turbo silencers that was fitted to the viper. This was their loudest one, it was loud for sure but was up on a lift inside so it was hard to get a good judgement. Once it got on the snow it would not be annoying loud, would be music to the ears.

I too seen this last night and emailed them about it. They responded very fast. They said "Will release specs as soon as the production sleds are out. We will be ready to start shipping when the final fit is done on the production units. It is a nice gain and will sell for $379.00 all stainless." The website says weight loss and 7hp gain. I hope this will help. I will be going to the Novi, MI snow show and trying to get as much information on exhaust from the venders there.

From the info I gathered at the time I heard it run was that bone stock viper made 135hp with just exhaust swap it made 140. For 5-7hp gain and a big weight savings that will be a great addition to the viper. I'm sure they will produce quiet and loud ones. Plus it looks way better than the big boat anchor stock muffler.

Just as long s it is stamped with the 87 decibel mark on it. Last year and the year before I got nailed because the new law states that any aftermarket exhaust must be certified und the 87 decibel limit. Mine was not loud but failed for no stamp in Wisconsin (Hurley)

2 yrs ago it was during the snow cross fiasco in town when the full Pro mods were jumping the man made hill across from the Alaska house with wide open pipes and hitting the maintenance shed cause the hill was built too close to the building. They got me for aftermarket pipe.

Good info to know. In my area(tug hill, NY) I've been told they can issue a ticket to anyone with any form of altered exhaust. This isn't anything I have proof of however I went through several registration check the past few years with my piped apex and was never given any trouble. I just like to think its cuz of the great yamaha sound!

Thanks for the updates guys. Looking forward to an aftermarket can for my Viper, either d&d or speedwerx.

In talking with the D&D guys they are claiming an easy 145-150 hp with basic bolt on mods. 150hp in that chassis with all the torque of that engine will make it a very enjoyable sled and especially great that it won't break the checkbook to get it there.

Awesome, my thoughts exactly

You should be able to come close to the 150hp mark with a FULL exhaust system, intake and pcv..... I really doubt that a bolt on "can" will make 7 hp..... but we will have to wait and see some dyno results.

Their dyno results showed 135 stock 140 with the can. I agree with u on the intake exhaust and pcv. Tell will tell and real life testing is going to be what really counts. With those mods listed above and a good clutch set up this will no doubt be one of the top 3 sleds for speed and acceleration with the exception on the cat turbo. But what good is the power if the belt won't stay on. Just my opinion

5 to 7 hp with a can only is fantasy.
