Here's how I did mine:
Snorkel:

Divider Before:

Divider after:

Opening roughed:

Opening finished: The additional area of entry to the air box has increased by approx. 2/3 of what it was stock.

Note: I put a couple of small dabs of silicone where the frogskin material contacts the cut out support ribs.
Great work! But, on mine I eliminated the "raised lip" around the edge where you cut to eliminate any possible turbulence. Granted that would be very little turbulence but thought I would mention it for those that have not done it yet.

I see your point about potential turbulence, but I look at this mod as just adding entry area to the box itself. I figure the air can get itself straightened out after the 90° turn it has to make and as it approaches the TB inlets.
A new larger snorkel actually might not be a bad addition to help the turn, but I don't think that would be necessary.

Great topic !
Can I have some significant gain if I remove only the snorkel and bend over divider for turbulence .....with mbrp can ? After the warrenty will finish, I'll buy a PC5 and cut it ????

I don't know what to make of that snorkel deal. I took mine out because it looks restrictive, but it also builds velocity and guides the air in it's directional change. I also wouldn't think a mfr would spend the money to add something like this unless it served a purpose. Maybe its a sound/noise thing?
I don't know that the divider thing is that big a deal, but if a dealer tech would somehow notice it this is definitely one of those things that could be explained away as a QC issue. "It was built that way"

Yes that will work but buy an AFR gauge or check your spark plugs to make sure you do not run too lean.

4°f ambient Intake settled in at 57°f I have no previous IAT data to compare to. This was not constant speed, more running laps around my field with short bursts to the grip.
I'm still breaking in and the snow is a bit loose, but it seemed to wake her up a bit.

hey stingray I'm thinking of doing the airbox mod along with my aftermarket can. I will need a fuel controller right if I do this this combo? If so what one works good and are they hard to install and use
thanks
