AMERICAN SNOWMOBILER SHOOT-OUT RESULTS

Just checked out HCS(hollow cranium sledder)to see the results for the classes.Seems there so blinded by two-stroke smoke only one post out of 63 mention the vector was the quickest overall for the 600s.Most of the post are male egos being stroked and stories about how long there crank bearings lasted. They must have money to burn(or endless credit).

Ya, some guy said the Poo 600 was the quickest...guess he thought the Vector was in the 800 class :drink:

Big Black Warrior....That's awsome that it ran 4 consistant runs like that!

Wow new light weight AC F800 not so fast! Dont tell the other forums this cause they will think it was rigged...lol

They shure fly on the asphalt in stock form.

Were you in Martin MI. for Amsnow? One looked to run real well...

Yes I was in Martin and the sled you are talking about is Billy Howards sled and it was far from stock. I've known Billy for a long time and is a top tuner but that sled had a pipe, can, powercommander, Y-pipe. The sled was lightened up considerably so that helps a lot the ones at the shootout were full weight sleds on dirt.

Has anyone seen the dyno numbers? I heard the Ski Doo 800 was in the low 150's, about the same as last year. Was wondering where the Yamaha's wound up. I realize it's not exact; but interesting. Nothing on AMSNOW, yet anyways.

dealer prep and the Apex is slower....

I'm smiling more and more with my purchase this past fall for a 2012 Vector LTX. Now I know the LTX is geared down some compared to the shorty (39 vs 38) for about 3% change in potential top end, but I'm gonna love it.

1] 1050 CC's for the recent Vector's

2] Because it is a 4 stroke and it only fires/makes power 1/2 as often as a 2 stroke is kind of the theory.

Reality is they position the 4 strokes in the 2 stroke cc class that they are closest to in HP.

CC class racing is outdated IMHO for stock classes. An older sled vs a new sled is for the most part not competitive. ie 583 Doo at 90 hp vs a 600 E-tech at over 120 HP. etc etc.

Classes should be calculated by a HP to weight ratio IMHO. Then everyone no matter how old their sled or how many strokes could race and be competitive.

Some things never change. Been that way for years for the Ricers.

Thought it would change when they stopped using Big Moose. Guess not.

I've been going to the Shoot-out since it started probably over 20 years ago, and I can never remember a dealer prepared Yamaha actually going quicker or faster then the stock set up. Even back when they were all 2 stokes, they never did any better during the dealer prep runs. This means 1 of 2 things, either the Yamaha dealers that prepped the sleds don't know what they are doing, or Yamaha actually have there sleds (clutching & jetting) set up very good right from the factory.

definitely a dealer issue....

Looks like some impressive #'s for big blue. Who did the dealer prep? D&D in Lowville again? Big Moose Yamaha ALWAYS made em slower! I wonder what the deal is with D&D slowing them up with dealer prep 2 yrs in a row.

I dunno? Installed D&D bullseyes??!?!!?!?! They seem to have posted to Youtube some pretty impressive dyno runs of the new sled....
