Snowgoer Woodgate NY shootout results.

Have not seen an 07 run or heard that it is better, but a standard Apex ran last year and kick #*$&@.

An Apex RTX ran last year with the monoshock skid. An Apex RTX ran this year with the pro-active skid. Last season the Apex was slightly behind the ZR 900 in box stock form if I remember correctly and was fastest in dealer prep form. This year Arctic Cat stepped up the program in box stock form with the F1000 and the Apex was still 2nd fastest! In dealer prep both the F1000 and Mach Z were faster, but hey they dynoed with 21 & 26 hp more respectively, they should be faster!

The pro-active has alot more adjustability for transfer, drag racing, etc than the monoshock. I couldn't tell you whether Big Moose did any adjustments or not though. The 22-38 gearing could've hurt the top end in the 1/4 mile as well.

that is still awesome for yamaha

Boy I would love to see how the Apex would run with the airbox mod, good clutch kit, good gears for a 1/4 mile and the cr10ek plugs. I bet it would be too close for comfort for the Doo and Cat boys. All with alot less hp.

My mistake, I thought and according to Viper34 the standard Apex was there last year. Does not really matter, it's the same sled. Also cat did some major gains to the ZR 900 last year. It came with 160hp for the last season. As far as the new RTX is concerned, yes, the new gearing probably did hurt it. They should of geared it up at least one tooth on top, and that would have probably made a difference.

Weren't you involved with getting the sled set up last year? Or am I remembering wrong and off my rocker?

Or perhaps you were just saying that last year someone who knows what they were doing was setting it up.

No Brad from Yamaha "Viper34" setup last years sled.

The reason the times are better with Higher MPH is the Snow on the track this year. Last year the track wasn't as good.

I personally would have loved to see them use a Attack to get the better hole shot. I'm betting they would have had a even bigger advantage in 660 then they already did

Viper34 did not setup the sleds last year. It was a former Yamaha employee that did the setup last year. Not sure who did the setup this year.

These were the times from last year.

Box stock run:
Arctic ZR 900: 12.59 @ 92.40 MPH
Polaris Fusion: 12.67 @ 92.02 MPH
Doo Z 1000: 12.95 @ 91.27 MPh
Yamha APEX: 12.63 @ 91.64 MPH

Thses are the results for the dealer prep runs:
Arctic ZR 900: 12.49 @ 94.93 MPH
Polaris Fusion: 12.60 @ 95.54 MPH
Doo Z1000: 12.49 @ 100.22 MPH
Yamaha APEX: 12.46 @ 95.13 MPH

You can see the ET's this year were significantly faster than last year due to actually running on snow this year.

That's not what I was told

Believe what you want. :moon:

It would've been nice to see them change the plugs, air box mod, etc and show what the Apex is capable. The Cat dynoed at 166 hp and the Mach at 173. When we dynoed at Dynotech the Apex wasn't far from those numbers.

The article said the Doo was allowed an air box mod. The Cat from what was in the article was just clutched? So air box mods and clutching? I would assumed changing spark plugs wouldn't be a sin, but I could be wrong! LOL!

Allen you know Your my hero. ;)!

I truly Believe either Allen or someone with true knowledge of what it take to make a apex or any Yamaha for that matter should be dialing in the Yamaha's not Big Moose!!!! :o| :o| :o|
