No one races the mach because you have to be able to shut down the sled at the starting line. The mach Z needs to recycle the electronic valves which means you have to rev it past or up to 7800 RPM and then it is ready to race. You can't do that at the starting line.DoktorC said:Ya..but the F1000 is already a race proven sled in the hands of D&D (you were at haydays right?). I know that's a different sled but the D&D guys already have a setup that works and already have products that make big dyno numbers...As for the Mach..no one races it...It can't compete with a Rev800 or F7 on the grass so I don't see it being a huge acheivement getting an F1000 to run with it....

No I wasn't at heydays. But comparing a race prepped sled to a trail sled is a complete joke. As a racer you should know that. Plus D&D has only had a limited amount of time on the F1000 as a trail sled. I wish we had a crystal ball because I'm betting it gets at least .5 seconds quicker by year three.
The reason the Mach can't run with the f7 or 800 rev in 500 feet is power to weight!!!
I realize the race sled and trail sled is completely different (as I mentioned) but alot of setup and clutching do transfer over....I know of several ISR stock sleds that are also trail sleds.
My whole point was to debate the positive aspects of the mach or F10...just that if the tuning challenge goes to the "pro's" then don't expect the Apex to automatically be the fastest.
Sledfreak - what valves? and why isn't this a factor on the trail?

The electronic rave valves..... It is a factor. Just ask a Mach guy to go and shut his sled off and then start it back up and pull up to the line and run it. Then run it gain and you will see the difference. Once the sled reaches 7800 RPM and you let off the gas and get back on it. It cycles the Valves to work to there full capacity. It's the main reason no body really races it because you can't let off in a race and you can't rev you sled to 7800 on the stand. I doubdt it would go to 7800 on the stand to cycle them. Great DOO technology.DoktorC said:dirkdiggler said:DoktorC said:Ya..but the F1000 is already a race proven sled in the hands of D&D (you were at haydays right?). I will never be the fastest as long as Big moose tunes it and it's down 20 plus hp to the sleds it runs against!!!!

Good thing those Cats are fast because from the posts on antother site they're having no shortage of problems, both factory and dealer setup. Good thing for them the shootout is a drag race since some aren't making it to 11 miles.
