hey iv never been sleddin around gaylord, grayling, mio, mackiaw michigan area , if u r familuar with this area can u start a con versation with me or just reply here! i have a couple questions be for i head up thanks

I've been on the trails around Gaylord, Frederick, Mio, Luzerne, Grayling, but not all the way up to Mackinaw. What kind of question do you have?

my question is , iv been looking at map and was wondering if a day trip from mio to gaylord to maciknaw briuge and back is to much for 1 day, and how many sled miles that is? we r going for 3 days and staying in mio just want to plan things out! and where easist fuel stations r, or any other suggestions u have, we want to put miles on more that a bunch of stop n go! thanks

Well, I never did like the trails from Mio to Grayling. But once you are there it is a long, straight shot to Mackinaw. 10, maybe 12 hour day, I would imagine, with stops and not going crazy on the trails. 6 hours up and 6 back.

ok thanks, so u figure 12 hrs there n back plus going from mio to grayling? was thinking mabe skip grayling go mio gaylord mackiaw back? why did u not like trails from mio?

Mio generally has good trail conditions, but the trails around that area I find aren't labeled very well and can be a bit twisty and narrow at times. That's all. It should be a good ride for you. The state forest roads can be fun if you have a good map. I'm sure you'll have a great time on your trip!

thanks for the help

ok ill start mapping out! r gas stations plentyful? got some pig 800 s following!!

You should be fine. Mio has gas. Luzerne has gas. There are stations out towards Glennie and Oscoda.
Of course anywhere around Grayling / Gaylord and there on up will have plenty of fuel stations.

Yes I was there last Sunday. Put in a Gaylord and rode to Mackinaw. Trails were in decent shape. Took about 90 Mins one way careful lots of DNR and COPS.

thats not bad 90 mins so i should be able to do mio to brige n back in day! what were cops looking for? my exhaust is 96 decipals idle, 98 dc at 4000 rpm and 103 dc max

Just for trial stickers and Reg. We took the trial up by Mullet Lake and came back on the other side..The swampy areas could have been better
