Results from my uncle yesterday.
Conditions: 3-4inch of slushy snow, 0.C,
After 5 runs, the best is 179km/h GPS and 185 on speedo at 10000RPM.
With a Hacksaw 128x15x1.
It will be great on hard packed snow! :4STroke:

Yes, that is good, in that condition.. That's 110mph in a junk condition. I truely believe this sled will be a 123-125mph sled out of the box, especially the XTX and with a YamahaCharger it will be 130mph.

runs

You doing high speed runs on a new engine...Yamaha suggests that you not go full throttle for the first XXX kms...Or is this different on the new Apex engine.

No, yamaha does NOT suggest that you NOT go full throttle... they suggest that you do not SUSTAIN full throttle. There's a big difference there. BRIEF full throttle is fine/necessary. Sustained will make it into an oil burner.

ride it like you stole it!!!!!

Lol lol I love that name Dirk diggler, x2 beat that sled like your ex-girlfriend lolololololol

Brake it in hard just don't overheat it!

I put 54KMS on mine Saturday also. Did 5 full throttle runs after that. 1200 feet of hard pack and best run was 106MPH. Speedo and GPS were within one MPH of each other. RPM never got over 9800 and still pulling very hard. This sled has some serious pull in the mid-range when you feather the throttle. Much quicker than my 06GT on the same stretch of road.

You mean Yamaha finally figured out how to get an accurate spedo?

Imagine how good it will run once the motor breaks in and the rpm's go to 10700-10800 where it should run!

The question I have is, how is the power steering? I have read that many testers thought the power steering signs off at to low of a speed. Is it super easy steering all the way up in speed?

Also want to know how the ride and handling is of the XTX's are before I pull the trigger. Well, it may be a little late for that now but some info on how the production sleds are performing is certainly appreciated!

I agree the sled is impressive for a non broke in and under revving sled, once it breaks in and is clutched properly it will be an over achiever. ;)!

Mike that's what I was thinking once it gets up to 10,500-10,700RPM and loosenes up. The EPS starts off at 0 and turns off at 35mph. As of today, the Yamaha speedos are more accurate then the DOO's.

edited, I also just read in a mag the eps does not totally turn off at 35, but is still there at a small percentage even a high trail speeds

Wow! Can't wait to try mine, over an inch of rain forcast here today and heading to Florida for a cruise on Sat. so have to wait a couple of weeks. Sure looks promising! ;)!
