I just did the math. your sled is slow for that HP.

LOL!! Best of luck Larry. The new sled 'might' be quick, but it sure isn't a 120mph sled like your piped SX700 was (which was prepped to go that fast).

Mine does about half that. Is that slow? I pretty much don't even need a helmet, lol.

I'm not sure why you think that... A 2005 MachZ at 170hp would run in the low 120's out of the box. This sled is 164 and with just an airbox mod it's 170. Proven by ulmer... I believe it can on a road or ice. I have seen a stock Aoex 06-10 do 119 on a road in stock forum broken in....

And don't forget the old SRX, 195HP. It ran 135MPH.

just came back from the lake,07 apex ran 128 mph on radar, its got a speed track with 144 chisels, all yamaha clutching and geared a little higher,my bro's bone stock rx1 ran 120,1998 thundercat with tweaking here and there hit a best of 132 mph,we had a little wind pushing us but it was fair for everybody, had a blast

Saw this over on Doo Talk

Well, had an interesting day today. Four sleds, all new on GPS on ice with a little bit of snow. All sleds are studded.

Artic Cat Turbo - 118mph
Yamaha Apex SE - 118mph
Ski-Doo 800 E-Tek - 115mph
Ski-Doo 1200 w/ header - 114mph

The biggest guy by far was on the 1200. He weighed 280lbs. The 1200 also was only turning 8000rpm. We have to get that to 8300rpm. From a stand still to 100mph the 1200 won every time! Very impressed with the 1200. Once the rpm gets adjusted right this sled will definately pull better top end and all these other guys have 20+ horses on the 1200. All the sleds have break-in time yet but that was the same for everyone. Very impressed to say the least!!!

Found it pretty interesting...118 for the Apex SE is very impressive..ecspecially if it's not broken in.

Wow, that is good for the new Apex. Not so good for the e-tec.

I wouldn't think the Etec would have huge top end...terrible aerodynamics compared to the Apex...I actually think 115 for it is good.

Some sleds will get faster, some will slow down. It all depends on the tuner.

For that chassis that is pretty good......I have seen stock Z1 turbo's run 122.

The factory weights are too heavy. I used a set of weights and springs from a 2007 Attak. I even had to remove 4.5 grams of tip weight. Pulling 10,900 rpm After that change it was like I seriuosly better hang onto this thing.
