Just finished install of MPI stage 1(low elev), I have the Koso X2 guage for a/f, temp and boost. When I start the machine everything looks good on the gauge, but upon engagement the a/f goes to "0.0" and the red rich light comes on. The boost and temp seem to be fine. Could I have a bad sensor?

Does your AFR system have a calibration procedure?
You should be able to calibrate the sensor.
If not, the sensor may be shot.

That is not normal. At AFRs below 9,5 your engine will stall. Either your sensor's shot or the AFR meter is faulty.

Electrical problem, not enough amps for the sensor?

What is your AFR at idle?

A/f at idle is 13-13.8....going to test all connections and voltage! If all tests well, I will change out the sensor.

Sounds like an electrical issue, or as RX said, calibration. Also, if the sensor cant keep itself hot due to lack of voltage, its going to read way off.
Depending on the sensors current draw, you may need a relay to deliver full power.

MrSled - What AFR meter do you run?
Run Power directly from the battery to the AFR thru a relay to get max voltage to the AFR.
They are sensitive to too low current and voltage.
Run a New sensor.
If that Does not work the AFR meter may be faulty.

This guy PMed me and his Sensor was faulty... I have the same gauge and senor combo...Koso x2

Still having issues... new O2 sensor and it falls to 0 randomly... tried direct connection to battery... still does it.. randomly but still does it... sucks.

Here is my findings after I purchased a new sensor.

If I start the sled... then wait a few min, then power the gauge... it works great every time. If I wire it and have it turn on with sled and wait for it to cycle then start the sled, it will go to zero and give me all strange O2 Number.

My fix is that I will have to add an on off switch to it to make it work...WTF is that.

Strange.
Let the ignition be on a few second before you crank the engine, maybe Your sensor need to get up to temp before you start the sled.

Going to try a few things tonight.

You might have to tie your power for that sensor in from the headlight. The sensor will be trying to power up from the battery voltage alone, then when it sees a drop during cranking, it could be causing a default reading. If it sees full voltage for the first time after the engine is running, the voltage is higher than just key on. Not sure what kind of amps your sensor pulls, but you may have to use a relay from the headlight to trigger full battery voltage once it's running.

I just added a switch to turn on after the sled is running.. it working great like that.
