Attak - Transfer Rod clunk?

With track lifted off the ground transfer rod does not move much at all.
Yeah don’t drive it with it worn like that,if you wreck the control rod it’s about $150 plus for a used one!!you can remove it altogether but won’t have any ski pressure

Yes I broke mine on my attak and all of a sudden I could stand the sled up ! It was fun ! Lol

Got my impact from my neighbor and removed the transfer rod. The rear bearing is GONE. The front looks OK put some of the pieces inside fell out. All the oil seals are missing. Kinda fucked up the rod removing the rest of the old bearing. I might have to consider buying a good used part ready to bolt in.

Also found some stress cracks in the pivot arm. I can't win. This sled only has 6500 miles bought it with 2100. Previous owner must have ran it HARD.

Those are troublesome. Had the wifes welded once already.

The newer pivot arms are beefed up a fair bit. I wouldn’t replace that rod, you can purchase the seals and needle bearing assembly from Yamaha. I’m playing the same kinda game right now with a used Mono II I purchased. I’ve managed to save the bearings, but they were rusted and seized to #*$&@. Seems not very many riders maintain their stuff like I do. :o|

The search for pivot arms starts :(

Priced out replacing all the worn parts on the transfer rod "eyes" about $70. But yeah putting in used parts kinda sucks. I am just worried about bearing removal/reinstall on current rod. Like I said. fucked it up pretty good trying to remove the old bearing on the rear of the rod.

Call Travis at Barn of Parts he's probably got a good used one. I can't believe this happened so many on this forum say the Apex is indestructible and will out last anything. Just go to show they all have issues and one isn't any better than the next one.

Travis at Barn of Parts can likely hook you up with part of a transfer rod, and anything else you might need. He’s a site sponsor and a great good guy to deal with.

I was wondering when and if I would ever see a cracked pivot/w arm. I assumed it happened to high mile or abused sleds. Most of the threads I read yesterday were about people getting them replaced under warranty on few year old sleds so I guess it can happen at any mileage.
