We all know this already. Yup in a perfect world Cat/Yamaha should have not let this happen. But it has and there not fixing it. As far as I'm concern it is a solution to the problem. A pretty easy one at that. The ECU needs good strong voltage at start up. Well this way its getting it. Simple.
Im not here to argue with anyone. If you don't like what were doing. Thats fine. Were not offended. But keeping up with the belly aching about is is getting pretty old.
I think at this point they would just drop the Viper and never look back.

I'm commending you for repeating what has already been done. It's another test that confirms what's happening but it's just that, a test. Just because it works doesn't mean it's the correct solution.
No argument here, just facts .................. "belly aching" ? now that's funny!

I dont see the harm in trying to find a work around. To me its no different then crappy Yamaha Hand Warmers and Rocks solution to that problem.
There is another solution coming also. Less complicated and no its not a flash. In testing now. Just saying so people keep options open for now.

Time? This year? Just curious.
This is here for all to use right now. The Super cap is ready to go in a sealed case just find a mounting place and run some wires. Easy. It will work with your stock battery or any battery for that matter. I would use a 10G wire if running from the stock battery location, Theres plenty of room on top of the clutches. You can use velcro or zip ties. Its really not complicated. Plus to plus, ground to ground.

OK you Viper guys.......the starting issue has prevented me from even considering a Viper.
Is this the cure?

Separate question on this fix: I don't know what the underhood looks like. Couldn't you mount a "small" battery on the shield, run the + from the rear battery to the + on the aux battery THEN go to wherever the + goes to upfront? Also
run a separate 14 ga.(?) line from the aux. battery to the ECU?
I'm sure somebody has thought about this.

Another question on this fix" wouldn't this fix VOID any factory warranty that one has?
All were doing is suppling the sled with good strong voltage, just as a new fresh battery would. Not sure were even falling under a mod that effects warranty.

I understand fully. If this is indeed "the cure" and I bought a new Viper, I'd clear it with my dealer first.
What about my idea of running the batteries in parallel? OR is this what you're essentially doing....I forgot already.
Yea its pretty much exactly what were doing. Just using a Super capacitor instead of another battery.

Does the super capacitor work like what they use on power lines to keep the voltage up? Same principal?
