I finally got my curve xs to have lighter steering and still rail excellent (spent all winter making adjustments). I had 2 0r 3 rides with it dialed in and then yesterday I came down a decline and there was a big pot hole at the bottom that bottomed out my suspension pretty hard. Dam near threw me off.

Now I have my heavy steering back, but worse than ever! I searched all morning on bent subframes and a-arms but no mention of heavy steering?

Shocks seem to be centered in a-arms. I'm just going to have a look at the sub frame plate now and do some measuring.

Any one that tweaked a a-arm or sub frame get heavy steering?

Thanks in advance

Is the bottom plate on the middle of the sub frame wrinkled or creased. If you jack up the sled you should be able find out where its binding.

Balls joint OK? Just suggestions, from a fellow pegger. Later.

Check your rear shocks. If you've blown one, you''ll definately feel it in the steering

I just took a few measurements and measuring from the ski bolt to were the skid bolts to the tunnel and the right side is back 5/8" more than the left. That is with the handle bars set straight and toe is good.
Then measured from top a-arm ball joint bolt to the same place on the tunnel and its the same both sides. No crease in the sub frame circle cut out. Shocks seem to be close to dead center of a-arm. The left shock is maybe an 1/8" forward off center and the right about 1/8" back off center.
The whole rear shock thing sounds possible, whats the best way to check it?

Is front shock pooched?? Carbides damaged causing drag?

Would you be willing to share your suspension adjustments?
My curves are heavy steering on hard pack but awesome with some loose on the trail.

check your center skid shock, the spring retainer could be bent, or the shock could be damaged.

Had my FX out on Friday and other than heavy steering the only handling issue from what ever happened (see start of thread), is when I get off the gas fast it is real ugly. The sled does the death dart, and the back end wants to pass the front end. I'm starting to think maybe it is the center shock thats blown? Any one know how to tell if its shot?
