Bent Spindle on Attak

Has anyone else had a spindle or the a-arms bend (without crashing)? I think that it occurred when I hit a large bump (on trail) while riding hard (90+). It changed the angle of the spindle (more upright) by pushing the bottom back. By the way - spindle and both a-arms cost $698.00 :o|

Although I have encountered a few minor issues with the Attak, it is a great sled. I let a guy with a new 2006 Renegade 800 HO take it for a ride - the spindle was already bent. He could not believe the power and overall ride. Looks like we may see another new face on this site next year.

Dude!

The way you ride, I'm surprised the tunnel isn't bent too. :moon:

Been there... done that (riding hard and a sneaky bump). Things shouldn't bend from a bump unless the bump was a boulder.

Ditto. I'm still ticked. It either happened on some high speed moguls or nose first landings. The other possibility is that the shock mount got hooked on a stump (couldn't have been a rock because theres no paint missing). I can replace the entire front end with a lightweight wide kit from Pioneer performance for less than OEM on the left side. I still maintain the suspension is inadequate and poorly designed. Take a look underneath...No other manufacturer has the shock mounts 2 inches below the lower a-arm. Love that motor though.

I am extremely happy with the performance of the suspension and overall ride of the Attak. As for durability - time will tell.

I had almost 5,000 miles on my Warrior and had no problems with the front suspension, but broke the w-arm on the rear.

have the left side arms (as you sit on the sled) from my rtx for sale if intersted

Yes there red and I still have them if your interested, send me a pm

I bent top and bottom a-arms on my Apex Gt . I had woodys doolly bars on it and they hang down alot more than stock bars . I caught a tree root under the snow at about 20 mph and twisted a-arms I was not happy . Cost me $400 . The bottom arm is steel but the top arm is aluminum . I hope it was a freak thing .

This cant be good....was putting on my new bergstroms, ski savers and shims today, noticed that the front of my right ski was hanging a little lower then the left....stepped to the side of the sled and eye balled the spindles and what do i see, the right one has a little twist to it. 241 miles i havent hit any rocks, stumps or anything else for that matter, called my dealer , have to bring it up so he can see it.

:o| :o| :o| :o|

Not very freakin happy!!!

I thought i was the only one to have this happen to.

Hmm! Very interesting. Thought it was just me. I swore to the dealer that I didn't hit anything. Still waiting to here from Yammi.

That rots! How bad is it Paul?

I can still ride, not even noticeable, it is just a slight twist. Only saw it because i had the sled up on the lift. Really pissed me off.

I dont remember hitting anything to make it do that. I hope this wont be a continueing problem. You would think the front ends would be designed to handle an ocasional rut or bump.

Uh-oh. Yamaha might have done a little bit too much lightning up on the front end. Anybody know if the Vectors have issues?

Last year I caught a rock up in the track. The groomer must have kicked it up cause there was plenty of snow. When the track locked up I started sliding and slid into a mild swail. I was not even jostled around. It bent my A-arms and must have done something to the bulkhead. After I fixed the a arms, I noticed that one ski sits a couple of inches back further than the other. There is no noticeable effect on handling.
