Just recieved my bergstrom skegs for my 2007 apex gt.
WOW, they are some meat eaters. Pavement doesn't stand a chance. Hats off to Scott.
So, Scott informed me to run a 3/8 shim and 1/4 ski saver, but says they might need some fine tunning with a different shim.
Wanted to see what everyone else was running with their apexs?
any adjustments to a 1/4 shim or 3/8 ski saver.
Thanks

I was just in to see Scott and place an order for some triple points. He said about 2 weeks. Making them as orders come in. I'll give it 3 weeks, but worth the wait. First time with the triples, but prior bars I have purchased from him were stout and priced right. And he always wants to talk about what he's thinking about set ups and trying different ideas. He lives and breaths his product, you won't disappointed but get your orders in soon if you want them by the time the trails open.

I ran the 1/4" shims and 3/8" ski savers that Scott sent for my application. No more darting, I turn like I am on rails, and they are virtually indestructable!
My experience with Scott is that you had better not be in a hurry but they are well worth the wait so order now.

I'm not what the measurement is but I did a trick I found on here a couple years back where I shaved the top lugs off and old piece of belt and put it in.
I think I put those in the fall of '06 and last fall when I put my Bergstrom's on they were still doing fine. So, they're still there and my handling is great.

I just run the 3/8 shim without the ski saver. Darting 98% gone. These carbides work as advertised. Oh yeah, and you can turn on pavement at the petrol stations.apex_shug said:So, Scott informed me to run a 3/8 shim and 1/4 ski saver, but says they might need some fine tunning with a different shim.

ski savers scrubbed top end and ate into fuel mileage big time for me. I now run without ski savers. Just the shims. Great carbides.

Like Swiss Sledder said "darting 98% gone". I agree darting issues are almost completely resolved with this set-up.

jclee71,
I run the 8" triple points which is what Scott recommended for my 144 inner & outer studs and agressive riding style.
