Best bang for buck

So, has anyone had seat time with both of these flashes? I'm unbiased when it comes to tuners. I'd like the snappiest tune I can get without having to upgrade map sensors and blow off valves.
If you want a "snappy" you should consider the hurricane SS 240!!!

Lol I'm not trying too upset anyone, just wondering the reviews / plus and minus's of each. I'm curious of how the compare is all. Asking which is Superior was miss worded. I hear alot of good things about hurricane, but have never used any product from them. Have had experience with TD though .

Yeah I could not remember if my 2 bar Max Spool 16 (First Version)did show the boost numbers on the hour meter of the stock pod. But yeah I now remember my boost numbers at 15.9 - 16.1 with 2 bar version and last season with 3 bar tune numbers were higher, high 16 - mid 17. Thus 3 bar can read higher numbers for more accurate fuel map??

My reason for wanting the newer 3 bar version:
My understanding was that the older version compensated for not being able to read the proper boost at higher levels, by adding extra fuel, whereas the newer 3 bar version does not have to add extra fuel because it can read the higher boost levels.

I could not just add the 3 bar to my old version, I was told that if I wanted to do that I needed the updated tune. So I did!

What kind of hp numbers are expected with that 2 bar Max Spool with the TD Header?
Is it expected to run leaner or richer? And can you use lower octane fuel with it?
Yes Dennis is correct our max16 w/3 bar and turbosmart bov spikes to 20 lbs and settles to mid 17 easy, with mod stock muffler, not sure with stock muffler and all same products.

Hey Pete, I do not see those high spikes that you speak of, and I have to wonder if it is because of your CAI which I do not have. All else is much the same as yours. I know of another with same tune , BOV and 100% stock muffler and his boost numbers always match mine very closely on a day to day basis. Seems like temp and air density etc. give that change we see, the high 16 to mid 17 readings on different days...???

Hi dennis,ya it might be,that is the only difference between yours and mine, but I do see 20 at times, but only for a few seconds at take off,and ben at td told me it was normal, now if I saw 20 psi sustained at WO than its time to worry..lol

you guys find riding on trails with 270 HP gets tiring? I know its all in the control of the throttle. Also the mpg change much from stock? I just do not see myself having to do anything else if I do the Powertrail 270 with clutch work. Thoughts?

looking it 1200.00 for that. An extra 800.00 I could have the multimap and many other goodies and push 290HP on pump gas and or tune it down to economy mode for mpg savings I think.

Unlike hopped up mod two smokes from the past tuned winders arent high strung or tiring at all. Trying not to be unkind to factory setup but i find my buddies stock sleds dont feel like they work right after having a tuned and clutched one. You can tow kids around the farm on a sleigh and go most of 130 mph on the lake with the same sled the same day. Mine was easier on belts with first version of powertrail and some dalton clutching than it ever was stock too. My doo buddies have snowcross racing history so they dial their doos to the tenth degree, doesnt matter when a tuned winder goes 20 mph faster on topend. U dont need a big spot to put the hurt on them. I put 13,000 kms on powertrail setup and loved it. It was kind of soft on bottom end throttle response so new ride has max 16 cai sm setup in it. No snow for real testing here in southern Ontario so far but it does seem to spool up harder and a fair bit quicker.
My two cents bang for buck like this thread is titled a stock muffler tune from one of the three big tune companies and some dalton flyweights you have a sled that would have been a 30,000$ cdn custom build until these yamacat monsters came along!

So you had the powertrail 270 first? 250 is with the stock exhaust? You must have changed gears to hit 130

270 is only 2-3 sled lengths faster than 240. 15 more hp to the track. A 240 tune is overkill for tight trails, so its a better option to get the bigger tune and use your thumb to regulate power. Fuel mileage should be better than stock with the bigger tunes. I usually run the 270 tune, and I will look at some data logs from trail riding, and for like a 40 min stretch of riding I wont give more than 50% throttle. The sleds are awesome with a big tune, I can wheelie over rollers at half throttle, destroy pretty much any other non boosted sled at half throttle. It makes sense why these sleds are hard on belts after I go from riding my winder to riding a stock apex or something like that. Driving the Winder around at half throttle is like having a normal sled pinned all day.

Did you change the gear when going to 270? Seems like you need to for more top end on that flash.
