05 rx-1 mc rear mount running 24 pounds boost with meth injection. Just wondering what is the optimum rpm when drag racing. I have heard the more rpm the better but then some people say you want the torque, which one is better and at what rpm?.

yeah thats another problem I'm trying to solve is lag its terrible can't get the engagment high enough
Time to get msd ignition. you'll be able to make boost at launch. Maybe even a shot of nos to get you out of the hole

yeah I'm debating but its only one weekend of drag racing so its hard to warrent the money normally its strictly a mountain sled so I have to do the best with what I have got
I launch mine at about 5500 rpm but it's an apex with a msd launch master

so any idea's for best rpm for power down the track?
You want it screaming threw the light just not banging off of rev limiter. there's so many variances. I would try to max rpm at max distance. There's clutching and gearing involved in it. It's to hard give magic number, every sled is different. Thats where alot of time goes is testing and tuning. Running that much boost with meth would pretty tough to set. Being a mountain it's probally geared low. You'll hit rev before you make it to the end. gear up for more top end. It's alot of work to do for one weekend.

well I actually have a couple weekend I have geared it up 23/38 put a smaller track on it running about 10500 right now
whats your trap speed? Are you hooking?Hopefully you didn't put anything smaller than a 136 on it. with that much power you can probally gear up higher. It's all trial and error. If your hooking, you should be easily in the 110 to 120 range in 500 ft. In 600 i'm at 121 with 10 lbs boost and on ice

153 1 1/2 track hitting about 100 to 105 range hooking good off line

C-16 at that boost still running stock rods. so i'm skating on thin ice but I'm hoping it will stay together for 500ft
